Hello!

I know this must be asked before hundreds of times.

but i really dont find a solid answer, am i allowed to post my referral link in game general chat.

and if not, can i post it on the guild chat?

i know that it is against the rules to post it here in the forum.

it is only allowed it on the signature.

thanks for any answer regarding my problem.

It's hard to say, since the devs don't really police that kind of thing.

If you spam it in chat, and a lot of people report you, you may not be able to post in chat for a while.

Also, many guilds HATE it when people post referral links or any kind of trade messages in guild chat.

If you want to share your referral link with friends, it's usually better to use the /whisper channel.

It used to be against the ToS, and was semi enforced, but the last couple of years, especially since they started with the free cc's, they don't seem to care. And as usual, the devs/community managers, haven't bothered clearing it up. But as the previous poster said, if you spam it, people will report you. Wether they do anything about it or not, idk /shrug

As for guilds, the general rule is no, as it can annoy your guildies, but different guilds have different rules, best bet is to ask :)

For guilds:

Would depend on the guild but for our guild:

You would be given a warning to stop using your referral link in guild chat as we do not allow that for anyone in guild chat as it would actually be rude and annoying for guild members.

The second time, we would remind you of the rules and if you did it a third time you would be removed from the guild.

As far as general chat not really sure about the rules since I never post my referral link in general but that is just me. I just post in on my signature link on the forums (which is allowed)

I wouldn't do it anyway. There are a number of people who actually pay millions of credits for people clicking their links so they get more cartel coins for free.

When you post or ask if people want to click your link, they'll ask you how much you'll pay. Currently subs who never clicked a referal link before can expect around 10M and those who did before around 2M credits....that is if it's not a scammer and they actually pay of course.

And if you are not willing to pay such amounts you will be publically shamed for being a scammer, in spite of your good intentions.

So you decide, but I don't thinkt it's worth the grief.

Just like the forums, you can be reported (and sanctioned) for "spam/advertising"... this applies to any chat.

basically, you are at the mercy of the people reading it.
