Farstrider Posted December 12, 2019 Posted December 12, 2019 (edited) Hi there, So - I logged in post patch 6.02, eagerly flicking through the Cartel Market to see what new wares there were to add to my collection and rested my eyes upon a marvellous sight. New Lightsabers, Lightsabers that looked iconic and very very Jedi-like. Excitedly I checked out the Lightsaber on my Guardian, blade length/width - perfect, normal holstering - perfect, I purchased it and several hundreds of thousands of credits later I had my 306 mods and hilt in it, popping in a crystal I /flourished and... The sound. It was terrible, it was a fizzling pop, I tested the weapon against my target dummy using Strike, satisfyingly iconic sound filled my headset, I extinguished it and /flourished again... I wasn't wrong and was instantly deflated, one of the best modelled Jedi Lightsabers with it's perfect blade and hit sounds has one of the worst sounds of the Lightsaber family on being lit. How are sounds assigned? And who in their right-mind considers the sound that has been added to this Lightsaber's profile iconic and Star Warsy? I logged in my Jedi Shadow, I could put up with the sound to a degree, it was disappointing but nevertheless I purchased the double-bladed variant and loaded my hilt, mods and crystal into it again. equipping it, again... the disappointment. It is a back-holstered weapon. Why? Almost every double-bladed saber added since the Firestorm has been a back-holster (excluding Twisted-Fang), which doesn't fit cosmetically with any of the more Jedi-like armours, it rests awkwardly on the back like a rifle, the side holstered double-bladed looks far, far superior and blends in nicely with all outfits and gear designs. So once again, I have to ask a question - is this consistent shift in double-bladed placement by design or an accident where the new art is just assigned the same profile (I've no idea how this works - obviously)? To sum up, amazing design and artwork, poor choice of sound (listen to it, I dare you to be satisfied by the ignition/extinguish sound) and look at the placement of the back holstering, it looks awkward - great for pikes, rifles and the like but not double-bladed lightsabers. If you've read this, please take it into consideration for future designs, it's only my opinion but I'm not sure it's a baseless one without merit. Thank you Edited December 12, 2019 by Farstrider
SteveTheCynic Posted December 13, 2019 Posted December 13, 2019 The only person you're allowed to blame for the credits you spent on transferring the mods and such is *you*. *You* didn't try it before switching stuff around. OK, I get that the sounds of things can be disappointing (one of the recent Assault Cannons sounds more like you're shooting the enemy with a wet noodle), but really, attack a dummy *before* fitting mods. Especially on the second character!

Especially on the second character! There's no blame. I am swimming in credits and it's not a problem just part of the narrative. Thanks matey
