It looks great for pikes, but awful for double-bladed sabers, we don't see it anywhere in lore. This trend began with the Firestorm hilts and since, almost all (if not all) added double-bladed sabers are back holstered, I am tempted to say it's an error, or the same questionable choice is being made every time. I love 'em and have actively gathered them. Fortunately, there is an easy solution to this issue. Don't like it, don't equip it. Imagine a galaxy far, far away where species have options and an individual's opinion on cosmetic issues vary. Problem solved, Dasty P.S. If you continue the "lore" argument about where an undeployed / activated light saber should be placed... Edit - I just checked in game. My Sith Assassin wears her dualsaber on her hip, as normal. My Guardian's Kira Carson wears an (unstable) dualsaber on her hip, but wears a pike a her back. If you've run into a dualsaber that is worn on the back, it's either a glitch or some newer model. What's the name of the dualsaber that sits on your back? I might want one. You think it looks "jank" - I think it looks awesome. But to show I'm nice... I think it would be awesome if some were horizontal on the hip. Imagine a galaxy far, far away where species had choices. But somehow, someway, we should trust your definition of "normalty" in a galaxy far, far away. I agree. I'd much rather have the weapon on the hip rather than over the shoulder. Hip is where a lightsaber should be, in my opinion. Obviously we don't all agree on this, but I do hope over the shoulder isn't going to be the default moving forward. Switching it up every now and then would be acceptable. The hip position looks really silly on my BT1 male Shadow as the hilt is often very long. Indeed, and we're all entitled to our opinion, it seems somewhat odd though that suddenly with the addition of one back holstered lightsaber, all new models added since the Firestorm - with the exception of Twisted Fang, have been back holstered, let's go for some variety and not have them all stuck there from now on. I avoided a back mounted weapon for my Shadow-tank because I was concerned it wouldn't work with some of the costumes I wanted. See, one problem with SWTOR is that when they introduce a new idea, they don't update the old content to match it very well. This is why I assume my Nautolan can't properly use her covert cipher armor and pop out the droid when she draws her weapon.... they never bothered to see if the new race worked with the armor properly (yes I've mentioned this several times as it has me pretty upset as petty as it is... I mean I did spend 10 mil credits for that armor ). At any rate I have no problem inherently with the back mounted saberstaffs and pole sabers and stuff in theory, but since I doubt they ever asked "how does this work with all the capes and back ornamentation already in the game" I can see why it's a headache for many people.
