Operative power or crit?

what do u stack/ which is best?

Power = damage

Crit = is just that, crit chance increase

Trick is balancing the 2 if possible, but otherwise if you want pure damage, go with power.

You may not crit as often but you'll do more damage in every literal sense.

At least that's what I figured out of it

Think Crit is important, but is useless if your power is low, since a crit gives you roughly 50% added damage, right?

So lets say you do average dmg of 100 per hit

You could crit and hit a mob for 150, and if you have a crit chance of 33% then every third hit will be 150 (roughly)

So assuming all damage is consistent throughout (which it isnt lol), it will be something like this:

100, 100, 150, 100, 100, 150, 100, 100, 150, 100

=1150

Whereas if you increase power, your base damage will be increased, lets say for example sake 125, and a crit of 10%

125, 125, 125, 125, 125, 125, 125, 125, 125, 187

=1312

So having higher power in THEORY means you'll have higher overall damage.

My personal opinion is that striking a balance between the two is the best option, but possibly stacking power at lvl 50 and then using some talent points to increase overall crit would be the best way forward.

I've done the math using a program that I wrote, and the golden rule of thumb is:

5 power:3 crit:2 surge:0 accuracy

The only problem with my calculations are that I did not factor spell coefficients into it and that I used a rather high base damage. (1k).

There's a thread called: "do we use +crit" or something like that in the operative sub forum where me and another guy had a very health discussion about the math involved. I couldn't find the thread though.

Anyways, that's the general rule of thumb. Depending on what kind of abilities you use, it varies.
