TacticianNL Posted July 15, 2019 Posted July 15, 2019 So I just became a subscriber for the first time after playing this game for about a year. I paid for the recurring subscription of 30 days. However, I do not have the money to be paying the subscription monthly. That is why I am hoping to cancel my subscription before the 30 days are up. But I have a question concerning that. On my account, it says that after I chose to cancel my subscription, I become a F2P player again. However, I heard that after you subscribe and then cancel it, you would become a preferred player. As quoted in the EA's support questions: "Completing the above process and canceling your subscription will terminate your recurring subscription. If you still have pre-paid time remaining on your account, you will still be able to play as a subscriber until that time has run out, even if you have canceled your subscription. Once your prepaid time finishes, you will become a preferred player." So my question is: will I be put into a F2P status or a Preferred status if I was to cancel my subscription before my time runs out? And if I become a F2P again, can someone tell me how to gain Preferred status? I do not wish to lose the ability to play the Eternal Throne story (as that was my main reason why I got a subscription) after saving the money for it. I hope someone can help me out even if it may sound like a silly question that could very well have the answer sitting in front of me. But I just wanted to make sure. Even after only a year of playing this game, there are so many things I don't understand or know about.
Mubrak Posted July 15, 2019 Posted July 15, 2019 (edited) You will be preferred when your paid subscription time ends. Technically both are free to play, Bioware just prefers those F2P that are paying at least sometimes. Edited July 15, 2019 by Mubrak
SteveTheCynic Posted July 15, 2019 Posted July 15, 2019 When you cancel, you will remain in "subscriber" mode until the time you have already paid for runs out. At that point, you will become "Preferred". Certain limitations apply, of course, and chief among those is the number of credits you can carry on your character. I recommend, therefore, that you deposit most of your credits in your legacy storage, since this will remain available. The limit? Right now, it's 350,000 credits for Preferred players, but that's going up to a round million with the release of 5.10.4 *tomorrow*. So leave yourself a bit of leeway, and dump all your credits in there, leaving no more than, say, 500,000 credits in their wallets.
TacticianNL Posted July 15, 2019 Author Posted July 15, 2019 Thank you very much for answering my questions. Seeing how the new update will start tomorrow, I'll wait by then to cancel the subscriptions. In the meantime, I will take the advice that was given and store my credits in the legacy banks. Thank you again!
