GTN changes wishlist

I write this knowing full well most of this will probably never happen, but there was some recent comments about GTN and it being expanded upon, and I thought, how about we get specific about what changes we'd like to see to the GTN.

For me, the main ones that come to mind immediately are:

- [selling] Ability to generate buyout price from inputting unit price on a stack (rather than having to do the math with a calculator outside of the game, or in your head)

- [buying] Ability to see at a glance if you own an armor set from glancing at the crate, not just seeing about individual items outside of one. Related to this, searching by character unlocked in collections, and searching by account unlocked in collections. (These would also be nice to have as categories in collections itself, but this is about GTN, not collections. :p)

What about you? What changes would you like to see made to the GTN?

Are you referring to the words "Unlocked for Account in Collections" or "Unlocked for Character in Collections" or "Locked in collections" that appear at the bottom of the crate's tooltip? (Complete with inconsistent capitalisation of "Collections") I'm not 100% sure when that was added, but I do remember that back in the day, it was only on the individual items, and there was a time when it didn't work correctly on partial boxes ("Upper" etc.)

The one thing that doesn't show is whether the set is unlocked for *this* character rather than some other, but in a very real sense, that doesn't matter very much.

If we're just wishing here, then I'll say every market system in every MMO should be like EVE Online. You can see supply, demand, trade volume, and other important metrics for setting your prices.

Only one metric is important: history of actual sales. Runes of Magic had that, where you could see the prices where items had actually sold.

Uh, not sure if I was thinking of one of those specifically. Most importantly, I'd just like a way to search easily for stuff I don't have without needing to hover over boxes to find out. Whatever might accomplish that would be nice.

Ah, OK, yes I agree. I'd like to be able to filter on the collected status of items, probably in the same way it works in Collections ("All" by default, or "Collected only" or "Uncollected only").

I agree... as long as the "collections" part works correctly. I know that I have purchased one of the outfits (or more appropriately termed) armor sets on more than one occasion.. and it has been opened and used. But for some reason I noticed it was still locked in collections : as though I have never purchased it. Oh well.. I'll figure it out. No biggie !

I do agree that being able to filter " collected only or uncollected" might have some merit to it!

Did you use the entire set? To unlock a set, you must bind *all* the pieces of the set on the same character. Normally, that means that you must bind them by any means possible, but there are persistent reports of it only working correctly if your character wears them. So wear (that is, in the "real gear" tab) all the pieces, and then put back on your "proper" armour.

Note that the new Resort Swimwear set has eight pieces, not seven, and you must bind both chest pieces as well as the other six parts. Fortunately, "bind all pieces" does not mean "wear all of them at the same time". (Provided that you keep careful track of which character is doing which set, you can acquire the pieces of a set one at a time over several months, and wear-then-destroy each piece immediately that you acquire it, and the game does keep track of it correctly.)

Umm, doesn't it already do this. There's the price for the stack and also "per unit" price already displayed. :o

For example - (I even logged in just to check) .....

Nerve-Damaging Chemical (stack of 38) - Price 144,000 - Unit Price 3,789

No calculator required. (3,789 x 38 actually equals 143,982 - but it's close enough. :) )

I'm talking about the window where you go to list an item and choose an amount to sell it for. Pretty sure there's no auto-conversion there?

No. What the other poster is looking for is the ability to set the unit price to X and have the game calculate the stack price automatically. This isn't a new request, by the way.

I wondered about that ! Hmmm come to think about I bet I used every piece but one... the gloves (or boots) ... I can't remember which.. But I can guarantee that's exactly it !!

Thanks for the heads up !

How about allowing add ons like the game that shall not be named, then you could get competitive pricing without spending 20 minutes to check listings.

Sorry, but there's no relationship between "allow add-ons" (as found in ESO, which I presume is the game to which you were referring(1)) and "therefore we can do this thing". The thing (improved GTN analysis) can be done in a variety of ways, of which add-ons are only one.

(1) I'm well aware that you weren't referring to ESO, thanks. I'm yanking your chain.
