Master-A
So I have this lightsaber. There is no lightsaber likt it anymore for this specific class that can be obtained without a dark/light restriction. I don't think the dark/light version is even there anymore too. So there is no way I can obtain it for my new character. I want to find a way to transfer the one I already own into the new character. Problem is it is bound to the characrer. Is there a way to make it bound to legacy and transfer it that way?
Mubrak
There is no way currently. In 6.0 the gearing sytem will change and gear will be bind to legacy, but it's not sure whether that is only new endgame gear, or pre 6.0 items as well. Some time ago, BW turned some of the class story quest rewards into Bind to Legacy. Back then, this applied only to newly gained items, existing chars that did those quests before the change still have the old bind on pickup version. It would be a good idea to make a post in the Suggestion forum and ask that either these changes are extended to existing gear, or that we at least get a way to get those "lost" items on new characters, either with a vendor that sells items that used to be loot drops, or as a way to transfer them to other charactes for a fee (be it credits or CC) Edited June 30, 2019 by Mubrak
JediQuaker
If you could give as the name of the lightsaber and/or link a picture of it, we might be able to verify if it's available or not - or something similar looking. There is currently no way to un-bind items.
Master-A
Sorry for late answer. The lightsaber I'm refering to is the "Soresu’s Razor" It's a curved hilt similar to the one Count Dooku uses. Here is a link No sparks, lightning, unstable or any other tunning effect . Just a normal clear lightsaber!

Doesn't have the interesting name, of course, but every Inquisitor that reaches the end of Chapter 1 of the class story receives a legacy-bound copy. Play an Inq to just before you go off to meet Darth T and you'll get it. https://torf.mmo-fashion.com/category/similarity/similarity-weapons/lightsaber-weapons/lssl03/
Master-A
Thanks! Didn't know it was legacy bound now xD
SteveTheCynic
Thanks! Didn't know it was legacy bound now xD It's been that way for a while now, although if you have an existing Inquisitor who acquired it before the change, you'll find that that one wasn't updated to be legacy bound. (I have one like that on my first Assassin.)
phalczen
The Executioner's Lightsaber is the same art and comes from Tier 3 crates, and is widely available on the GTN, and has no force alignment or pvp restriction. As for what happens in 6.0 when Galactic Command metamorphs in Galactic Renown, the Developers said: Question - "1. What happens to existing cosmetic shells and Crafting Schematics in Command Crates? Will these be made attainable elsewhere? Purchasable via Command Tokens and/or allow Reverse Engineering to learn how to craft items (especially the cosmetic items)? 2. Reverse Engineering being a bigger part of the upcoming gearing, will we see it usable on older gear? Breaking down gear that we normally couldn't (and learning schematics)? Something I've missed about crafting and gearing, learning those recipes to make stuff. 3. How will the legacy storage for crafting materials be organized and will there be a 'Deposit all crafting items to storage' button? P.S. Would love to see some improvements to the crafting UI (having a learned tab, unlearned tab (including where to find those recipes) - yes, totally stolen from WoW, but iteration on things others have done is what WoW does. So, let's get SWTOR adapting more!)” Answer - Noice. Been looking forward to this question. First, yes all cosmetics and schematics currently coming from Command Crates will be moved to a vendor so that these can still be acquired. RE: Reverse Engineering older items. Right now we're discussing what we do here. Part of our PTS Phases will be dedicated to Crafting so we'll be looking for feedback and ultimately you may help us make this decision. Legacy storage is exceptionally exciting to me and of course, there's a quick deposit all button. We also would love to overhaul the Crafting UI, this isn't something we're going to get to in 6.0 but it's high on our list. So, you *should* be ok if you can't find any right away and don't get any while you are in tier 3 of Galactic Command between now and 6.
