DarkCrossing
...but have been away a long time. Been quite a long time since I've been here and have some questions. How do I get the new game(s) updates and do I lose the characters I currently have in my current games? Second, how do I get a character to the "Legendary" status I've seen a few players are? Somewhere I can read on how to do this.
Mubrak
Welcome back, then So far there have been 4 expansions with the next one due in September: 2.0: Rise of the Hutt Cartel (lMakeb), 3.0: Shadow of Revan (Rishi + Yavin IV) 4.0: Knights of the Fallen Empire (story told not told in a planet to explore but in instanced zones) 5.0: Knights of the Eternal Throne (instanced zones again) You don't lose characters, the expansions continue their story. But you might want to play a new char to get a refresher. Leveling is quick these days, as a subscriber, you just need to do your class quests and every other planetary quest to stay within the planet's levels. New chars start the expansions automatically in the order they were released. For your old chars there is a terminal on your ship where you can start each expansion's intro, the next expansion's intro will then start automatically. You can skip Makeb and do it later, but starting either Knights expansion will automatically finish Shadow of Revan and the character's class story if it's not done yet. Since you first meet the main characters of the Knights story in the prelude to Shadow of Revan, you should play that first. Legendary status is gained by finishing all class stories. There is a display in the character select screen that shows you which stories you're still missing. Edited June 28, 2019 by Mubrak
LD_Little_Dragon
How do I get the new game(s) updates If you sub you get all the new expansions automatically. Start the new storylines from your ship's mission terminal do I lose the characters I currently have in my current games? Do you mean your companions? Starting KotFE/ET will take them away, but most, with a couple of exceptions, have come back by the end of the Ossus storyline. how do I get a character to the "Legendary" status I've seen a few players are? Legendary just means a player has completed all eight class stories (the first 3 'chapters' of the game for each advanced class)

You do not lose them but the names you picked earlier are most likely taken and you will need to rename them
JediQuaker
How do I get the new game(s) updates and do I lose the characters I currently have in my current games? All the new content would have been installed when the game updated (which it probably did when you first logged on after being away). You won't lose any characters, but if you've been away during some server mergers, you may need to rename some. Second, how do I get a character to the "Legendary" status I've seen a few players are? Somewhere I can read on how to do this. You get Legendary status by taking a character of all 8 classes to level 50. (IIRC)
SteveTheCynic
You get Legendary status by taking a character of all 8 classes to level 50. (IIRC) You do not RC. Legendary Player is done by finishing all eight class stories.
Adric_the_Red
Legendary just means a player has completed all eight class stories (the first 3 'chapters' of the game for each advanced class)The stories are for each "base" class. There are sixteen advanced classes, two for each of the eight base classes. The four Republic base classes (and their corresponding advanced classes) are Jedi Knight (Guardian, Sentinel), Jedi Consular (Sage, Shadow), Smuggler (Gunslinger, Scoundrel) and Trooper (Commando, Vanguard). The Empire classes are Bounty Hunter (Mercenary, Powertech), Imperial Agent (Operative, Sniper), Sith Inquisitor (Assassin, Sorcerer), and Sith Warrior (Juggernaut, Marauder). Advanced classes with the same base class play the exact same story, regardless of which of the two advanced classes you choose. IOW, Jedi Knight is the base class, and its two advanced classes are Guardian and Sentinel. But whether you choose Guardian or Sentinel, you will play the Jedi Knight class story. Likewise, you will play the Jedi Consular story whether you choose the Sage or Shadow advanced class, and so on.
