Benirons Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 (edited) So it seems to have taken me a while to look at just how much dmg jet charge does on a dps PT. According to the tooltip, a fair bit more than rapid shots. So i tested out how it works out in practice on the dummy, replacing where i would use rapid shots with jet charge instead since it is supposed to do more dmg. But the few parses i did did not seem to yield the results i was expecting (that jet charge is a superior free move). Rapid shots always won per activation (yes the low v many number of hits between the two abilities can and does result in inconsistencies, but overall statistically jet charge should be superior). So i killed a 500k dummy with nothing but rapid shots and jet charge. I took the relics off so that numbers would be consistent throughout. My rapid shots tooltip dmg (with no relics on): 3754-4784 My jet charge tooltip dmg (with no relics on): 5891-6342 It should be pretty obvious that statistically jet charge is superior, but results seem to show otherwise. this is the combat log: http://parsely.io/parser/view/435606 I tried to get in as many jet charges as i could without the dummy evading (guild SH one). All debuffs mod was present on the dummy. As u can see the crit rate for both is about as even as it is gonna be for a small sample size. Not sure if u can see this anywhere on parsely, but the per activation values r as such: Rapid shots: 3921 (110 uses) Jet Charge: 3845 (18 uses) Jet charge is classified as kinetic dmg, while rapid shots is energy. It seems to me that jet charge is subject to more DR than rapid shots for whatever reason, or tooltip is lying, or there is some buff that PTs do more white dmg than tech dmg that i am not aware of. Could anyone shed some light on what is really going on here, because im terribly confused.... was really hoping to get a bit more DPS out of my PT by replacing a few rapid shots with jet charges. Seterade Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 dont try to use jet charge offencsivly. it is a gap closer with some dmg thrown in. always rotate rapid shots for energy management on PT
