So i wasnt planning on having any romances this playtrough. I avoided all flirt options except one in the middle of the story because it looked like such a hilarious line. Well i guess that was all it took. Avoiding all other flirt options and doing my darndest to make the game (and Torian) realize i wasnt interested was all in vain, and eventually Torian professed his love without any options to turn him down.

What do ?

Cheers !

So they give you 40 oportunitys to get stuck in a relationship without any real warning, and 0 ways to get out of it ?

Its the perfect trap !

Well played Bioware, but all you've done is doomed poor Torian in KotET muahaha!

It happend to me with Doc. I refused all flirt except one (lack of better reply options) and got locked. Eventually you reject him at the very end by refusing to marry but it pissed me off greatly that everyone considers i was with him.

From what I heard, this is the joy of the revoked approval system: before, you had to actually grind points for banter progression; now they are tied to the story.

My friend flirted with Doc once (probably because the line sounded sassy), and got stuck in a very, very unwanted romance with him, too, because the man refused to comprehend the meaning of "no means no". Only during his proposal scene could she reject him fully.

I assumed the same must be true for other companions and just avoid flirts like a plague with the characters I don't want to romance this playthrough. Worked fine so far.

Not all flirt lines will lock you in though. I know on one of my smugglers I took one flirt with Corso because it was the only non-mean line available. That character was never locked into a romance with him.

They need to make it clear which flirts do and do not lock a character into a romance. It would also be good if flirt lines were not the only "nice" option available during some conversations.

I find Doc to be the worst in this regard, I found most other romances knock it off pretty quickly if you're not interested but I don't know if Doc's only dialogue with a female JK is that flirty (sleazy) dialogue or what because it's just so off putting, seriously no really does mean no. To think he was a lady JK's only romance option for so many long years...

Each vanilla companion has one critical flirt, some might have a second. If you don't take it, you miss your chance at the romance. If you take it you are locked into the romance until the companion comes back in FE/ET.

I think Nadia's is worse. You can get locked into her romance without ever realizing you flirted with her, and boy does that play out as very creepy!

The developers did implement such a system for KOTFE romances, where, if you pick certain choices, the game warns you that, hey, this is it. Are you sure you truly want this?

They could have expanded the warning system to include classic companions so that a potential romance wouldn't come out of the blue.

Hmm. I do wonder if there's a guide for it, for those who didn't play each class story ad nauseam and are simply unaware of which flirts are considered important in a romance.

https does seem to work on the forum, but I cannot access the account part of the website at all (maintenance/high traffic message). I was hoping to check my subscription status (days left).

I'd like to see the option for someone like a smuggler (just for example) ... that might be able to "flirt" often with more than one ... without it going into someting more serious .... maybe ??

Of course that could be dangerous too !!
