Thannin
Thoughts on introduction stories, tutorial preludes: I guess I should start this by saying that I'm disappointed in how each character starts in swtor. Each character arrives on-planet, at level 1, with a class and starting abilities already assigned. What I would think might suit everyone who is just joining both mmorpg playing as well as star wars is this - introduction to each class, a build-up of story and events that led the character to the starter planet to begin with, and an explanation and intro to every ability your character aquired before you arrive on the starter world. The player would select the character class, what the character would look like, and then have their own 'story' mode that would enable them to learn how to move, act, fire a weapon, and they would aquire the starter abilities for their class. It would also give them an idea of where their character came from.. like with jedi and sith - you'd start on some random home-world, performing a job like - nerf herding or something mundane. And either a wisened old master appears or a creepy, shadowy figure begins to follow you - they approach in their own manner and suggest that maybe there is more to life than shoveling nerf dung.. It would be a great way to give all audiences a chance to actually care more about their characters than just 'eh, well I guess I'll make a smuggler..' and start doing missions from that point. Don't get me wrong - personally, I love BIOWare's games - and swtor is no exception. I'm just wondering if others don't have the same idea for this than I have..? Anyone? Raised or lowered.. raised..
