Medium armor is for sentinals... they are not tanks.. yet i reengineer into things with sheilds and defence... why is this even a waste of what should have been a DPS only armor set? There are items like this in every profession, I have a couple of bogus epic implant patterns. Random chance is random, sometimes you get the BiS pattern, sometimes you get a skill implant with defense on it. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Look and see what that stat does. It's affects avoidance, dodge and parry. If you're wearing not wearing heavy armor and are solo PvEing, it can help your survivability. Also Sentinals/Marauders have an ability that is triggered every time they parry/deflect an incoming attack. Sheild stat? no clue. Probably just random assignment. Roda Posted December 29, 2011 Share Posted December 29, 2011 When you learn a Blue armor recipe, there are x3 different version that you can learn from the initial Green version. They are +Power, +Critical, and +Defense. Then when you tear down that Blue item, the base special ability of the Blue version will influence which of the x5 Purple versions you'll get (per Blue recipe). Sometimes a Marauder will be forced to Off Tank as needed. Also when soloing with a dps companion like Vette, the extra defensive benefits could be useful as you quasi-tank for Vette. While I personally wouldn't want the +Defense on all of my armor pieces, nor would use them on a regular basis, they do have their value. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
