Plz fix: Double Bladed lightsabers do not cast light on walls etc...!

Single wielding and dual wielding a lightsaber both make the glows of the sabers cast their light on walls and other world objects... strangly enough Double Bladed saber DO NOT! Is this a bug? Hasn't it been implemented (aka forgotten! )?

 

Stange thing, is that it DOES cast its light on the player character, but that's all the light toutches...

 

Please fix this, it's minor, I know... still important enough for me!

It's a feature. Instead of making double bladed lightsabers dynamic light sources Bioware decided to make the blades be surrounded by colored gas so it would look like they are glowing. Well that was the hope anyways, the reality is that the colored gas around the blade only serves to make it look like a vaporous 2-dimensional sprite and a blade of a lightsaber.

It doesn't work for any of the lightsabers in the game. Moreover, you'll note this game doesn't support HDR lighting of any kind. There is no specular lighting in this game and shadows aren't rendered with any degree of realism (no soft edges, gradient shadows, etc etc the list can go on a long time).

 

This game is made with an antiquated engine that has serious limits to what it can do inside of resource constraints. It's why there is such a stark difference between the cutscene and actual gameplay visual quality.

 

This is basically what happens when you have a game like SWTOR that was delayed for as long as it was and lauches with inferior technology. It's new but technologically behind the times. They may update it in the future, but as it is now the engine isn't capable of doing what you're asking for and still be able to provide a playable experience in an MMO client.
