Sadly, this bug is one of the longest-standing bugs in the game, along with the weapons that don't disappear when you go into stealth. The chances of getting it fixed are approximately zero. But you might get a pleasant surprise - they did do something to prevent the "taxi blinks out" bug on Coruscant and Nar Shaddaa, and the "character blinks out leaving an empty taxi" bug that replaced it.
