marzipana
If anyone is getting the "Failed to load room dat file" crash when trying to load a planet in the game, here's what I did to resolve the issue: -Log out and close SWTOR -Find your Star Wars The Old Republic shortcut that you click on to launch the game -Right Click on it and go to Properties -Click on "Open File Location" -Double click on "Assets" -Find "swtor_main_areadat_1.tor" and MOVE this file to your desktop do not copy it, physically move it. -Relaunch the game. This will force SWTOR to regen and download the missing and most recent file from the servers. No need to run a repair tool or reinstall the game. -Enjoy your hair.. clutterman
The file name to move is now swtor_en-us_7_0_areas_1.tor, its in the same folder. Following the steps lined out forced a repair. Sharing in case someone (like me) runs into this problem (5 years after the original.)
