pvp community vicious towards other players

So long story short I have trouble getting new people into pvp or people I already know because my friends are very no nonsense doesn't matter who your getting stupid with if you are getting stupid with anyone my friends will leave the wz, I always finish and just add to my ignore list (even though for a wz you can que with ignored players), but the greater problem here is not my friends not playing it it is that new players can quickly lose interest in pvp when somebody is screaming idiot, moron, and we have all heard much worse with cussing in pvp as well, not to mention some of these players are not adults there are kids who play this game teens and other ages.Though no one under 13 is spouse to play it does happen, and yet people will still act like there about to have a stroke if things aren't going there way ah useless team bunch of cussing.

I made this thread to raise awareness as this is costing us potential returning pvp players to wz's and returning wz players matter, it is possible to one day end up with wz as dead as world pvp not saying it would be tomorrow but in the long run it could happen, also returning players even if not at a top tier will eventually get to it if they stay interested in pvp if your complaining they don't put out enough dps now give them a chance to get the gear and they will, I say that as I have entered wz were some players were ignorant enough to tell all the low gears they should leave some did and some just ignored him.

Any thoughts on this are welcome

Banter and hate in PvP is like Death and Taxes, it's not going away.

Just ignore it. Not sure why people let some rube dictate their gameplay. I mean honestly who are they? You'll never meet them irl. Also this game doesn't have a learning curve anymore, so you're going to run into frustrated people who took the time learn.

Most people who go full hatin, hover around the bottom of the leaderboard anyway on all fronts.

Yeah... PvP is always going to include a lot of smack talk and elitist commentary. It comes with the territory, and if you don't have a thick skin or the ability to simply disregard it.. you are self-inflicting discomfort here.

The problem, most of the time, is that 'new players' jump into 70 PVP with absolutely no idea what to do or how to even play their class because of level boosts. Its 8v8. If everyone on the enemy team can play, and you've got a premade of noobs on your team, its going to be an absolute slaughter and its very frustrating. Learn your class. Learn the PVP maps and how to play them in lowbies. Problem solved. None of the 'elite PVPers' expect you to be a PVP god. They just expect you to make proper calls, stun the enemy when trying to cap, etc etc. We're not (all) toxic, we just want you to L2P and all too often your response is "pay my sub, der her her, its just a game". And for gods sake... don't jump into ranked with crap gear and then not bubble on your sorc! That will trigger some serious nerdrage.

Consider this - if we drive off enough of the bad pvp'ers, maybe the population will shrink to the point where BW is forced to combine servers again.

Shhhhh some people still think we have this massive population just waiting to return. Maybe we'll get a massive influx of players every time Musco answers a legitimate question about 5.10?

You are assuming people will stop driving bads off once this game is a single server, but it is in their blood ;)

This is a very broad topic and honestly there really is no solution at this time. I havent played regs for ages now as there is no point, premades are dominating and easily winning against the solo players who then rage, quit and dont que again. Many que just for conquest, UCs, afk the matches or just lose it to make the match be over faster.

Its not much better in ranked where the community has gotten so small that everyone ones everyone and is able to focus the weakest player. If a new person comes, bad or undergeared the people trash him so much he will not que again (if he is smart). So yes, the PVP environment has gotten worse with the decreasing player base willing to PVP.

Regarding the age I already mentioned this many times, most of the PVP players are very young ranging from 16-21 year old. These kids have no idea of real life or its values and use the anonymity of the internet to bash on other people. There are very very few people in the PVP scene who are really "adult" about playing the game.

the pvp community should use the chance with 5.10,

to rethink their behaviour against others.

the goal should be, to win more people to the pvp players pool,

that they don't need to beg the ppl to list for regs and rated.

i totally can understand the frustration, but it is something different,

start teasing the ones with less experience. and it doesn't matter,

so if you see somebody failing around, just write the player a nice message,

that you noticed them and offer some help, if they have time and want some.

that won't work all the time, but we have to keep in mind, that the most

players don't need to play pvp, but to play pvp, players are needed. so

help them, make a good healthy atmosphere, do some nicer jokes, do

calls and be a positive example, not a douchebag.

PVP 101 is grow a thick skin.

In my experience real toxicity isn't that common. - I do occasionally have a 'Really?' moment sometimes when people don't call or respond to calls or throw away a perfectly good lead coz they think they can 3-cap.

But best advice is to find a few friends and queue with them. This cuts down the idiot factor by quite a bit. - Some nice comments at the end of a match or praise for good performance is good to send and receive.

And people are usually flattered if you approach them in a nice way. - Stroke their ego by telling them they're admired and ask if you can team up.

I also blame BioWare for gutting lowbie and midbie PvP like they did. Making it unrewarding and a PITA at get pops. It was such a stupid move to make it so unattractive, and effectively kill it.
