Priority Transport

Keep in mind before you buy it that getting to your ship is extremely easy already (not to mention there is even less reason now that you can just travel to any planet from your map instead of boarding your ship). There are multiple ways to go about it that only take a few seconds more such as quick travel to a stronghold and immediately exit it to go to your ship

Personally, if you're gonna spend the money I'd say spending on reducing the cooldown of your fast travel is a better option as it most definitely going to be used more often and can grant you great mobility around all the planets seeing as each one has multiple fast travel terminals littered throughout

Yes they could travel to a stronghold but then they would have to go through 2 load screens and not everyone has a good computer so load times can take a bit. Better to go through a single load screen then multiple at that point.

During leveling you should avoid using such quicktravel functions (that allow you to leave the planet) anyway.

When the game tells you to "go back to your ship", It sometimes wants to surprise you with a cutscene in the hangar. When you avoid the hangar, the quest won't progress, because the scripting doesn't consider the various quick travel options that were added after release.

Adding to this (which is 100% correct):

If your mission step says "Use your ship to travel to X", it means exactly what it says. Go into your ship, walk or run to the bridge, and use the galactic map object there to access the map and travel to the planet.

If the mission step says "Travel to X", it means "Use your ship to travel to X".

In both cases, do not use the Galaxy Map to travel, even if you are standing in your ship when you do it.

All this (and what Mubrak said) are completely true. I should've specified that I meant after you're done leveling and doing the class story and all. My bad!

On a side note, if you are F2P or Preferred you can not exit a stronghold to your ship or the fleet. As such, if there is any chance your subscription may laps, it may be beneficial to you to buy Priority Transport: Personal Starship and the three cool down reductions Improved Priority Transport: Personal Starship I/II/III. The total cost for all is 120k credits, which is well within the 250k F2P/350k Pref credit cap.

Actually you do not have to use your ship's map to travel to the planet. as soon as you load on your ship you can open your Galaxy Map and use that to travel to the planet. Since you're on your ship, it won't actually force spawn you to the planet but actually move your ship there.
