Question: On the dev team, are there 'experts' in certain areas like racial cultural differences, Mandalorian lore, galactic history, the Chiss Ascendancy, lightsaber combat, ship design etc?

His answer: Experts... not really, that I'm aware of. Many of the writers are experts but we don't have a 'Lightsaber guy' (well except Brad who makes them..).

So if i read his answer right... theres no one in the dev team that knows anything about starwars lore etc.?

Scratches head... i really do hope that im reading this badly.

Anyways.. flame shield activated.

I think he means that there is no specificity, they all know a hell of a lot about a hell of a lot of things.

That's how I read it. There are plenty of Star Wars experts, but nobody is specifically assigned to be the "expert" on Tatooine weather patterns or Ord Mantell crop circles.

Really? You think there's actually some position in a company out there for "lightsaber lore specialist"? Think they advertised for...

Job Opening: Lead Star Wars Expert on Mandalorian Lore

I assume they do what MOST people do...if assigned a task, they investigate it and research it before just doing it.

The holocron handles all lore issues, no one is above the holocron. If you don't know what I'm talking about, well you aren't a SW fan then.

As someone who is probably in the 1% of Star Wars lore geeks (try to occupy me and I will force push you off a cliff), I can say with certitude (Anthony Weiner reference for the win) that SWTOR's lore is so meticulously well done, it's mind-blowing. The existence of Voss in this game and Killiks on Alderaan...and the fact that one companion is a Joiner...is just full of Star Wars lore/continuity win.

Lucasarts will be putting its heavy gut on Bioware to protect its IP.

The same way they utterly helped trash SWG by contributing to the game changes because they pandered after WoW success

Being 4,000-3,600 years before the movies is quite a shield from LucasArt edits, hence why BioWare chose the era for KOTOR.

my god man, the sky is falling down!

so your way of "getting it" is to assume that and I quote you "theres no one in the dev team that knows anything about starwars lore" - ermmmm bioware have a history of starwars and more than likely know a hell of a lot more about it that the vast majority of people on earth, they are also working with Lucas arts very closely who will advise where needed...

they know nothing, nothing at all about starwars lore, my arse
