ytrenor Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 Hi, I never played on a PTS before. I was wondering if playing on the PTS would update my current game, or if it install another version somewhere else on disk? In other words, does playing on the PTS alter the installation so that we cannot play the normal servers ? Or can we play normal and PTS at will, without having to download patch over patch each time we switch ? Same question, different wording...
Mubrak Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 (edited) After enabling the PTS in the launcher you have a switch where you can select between PTS and live environment. Other than using the same launcher both are completely independent installs (same directory, different filenames). Installing the PTS increases SWTOR's size to 75 Gigs. To switch from live to pts you just need to close the game, start the launcher, and select the pts before clicking on play. Edited July 16, 2018 by Mubrak
Banderal Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 You can play both with one launcher. It creates a separate install (which is why it takes so long to download). Then, after you login to the launcher, JUST before you would hit the "start" button, there is a different button you can click to choose between starting on the PTS or starting on live. You can click back-n-forth as often as you like, but you DO have to actually quit the game completely and restart to swap.
