hello,

just a bottle to the sea, but i needed to try.

today i bought a veeeeeeery cheap Exiled Revolutionary”s Armor Set to the GTN (9k credits...) in darth malgus server.

it's a 1152CC set so the player who sold it made (obviously) a big mistake. i have no problem to buy ingame items cheap and sell them higher, it's the principle of business, but CC item...humm not like this.

i don't remember exactly his name, but i wish to give him back.

there is a chance for him to see this message, pm your name, i am sure i can remember it seeing it written.

it's just a game, we are near to the may the 4th and i don't want to fall to the dark side ;)

You're kind and honest to make such a post, but I feel like random people may contact you claiming to be the seller. :(

I think this will be the case, unfortunately.:( But I agree with the rest, very kind and honest!

Yeah... I come across these from time to time on the GTN as well. My practice for high value items is to note the name before buying the item and then sending them an in game mail explaining that I think they accidentally listed at default price and would they like the item returned. [The reason I do this rather than just send it back by default is I have found that when I just send the item back.. it sometimes bounces back to me because they never checked their mail.]

The only chance you have at this point is that the person may actually reach out to you in game (based on your character name as buyer in their sale mail message... though if they listed before a server reset.. they won't get your name) and ask nicely if you would be willing to return the item.

Unfortunately posting here will most likely only cause you to get trolled for the item by other players who claim they were the seller, but of course cannot prove it. But maybe your memory recall of the name may serve in this case.

If I were you.. I would hold the item for a couple weeks and see if anyone reaches out to you from in game. The original seller should be the only one that actually knows the name of the character that purchased the item as long as you did not disclose it in context with the item you bought (ie: don't broadcast in a public chat or forum).

i am not an angel ;)

facts are that i didn't really think, i just bought because someone else would have done it. so i saw the name but not long enough.

and when i saw the name of the set, the one in promo this week... so bad for the guy : real money is real money. not like a Czerka Crate-O-Matic lucky buy.

i have the letters of the name in my mind but not really in order so if he gives me the name, i am sure to remember if it's the one or a fake.

i didn't reconnect yet but i will try a ticket, and if a dev comes here, i am sure they can retrace selling, they did it for cheating and exploit.

I do this stuff all the time when I find the accidental bargains. I absolutely hate that this is treated as something special now instead of a common thing among players.

Instead we get posts like "lol, you lucky you, he got what he deserved - should have been more careful." It's disgusting.

It's sickening...that attitude I mean. I LOVE getting lucky...but never at someone else's expense.

I agree with TUXs, getting lucky sure is great, but not if someone gets the short end of the stick.
