REVAN_cz
Hello. I might as well say i v seen thjis before in certain games, but it doesnt matter. Im not sure but i ve tryed similiar suggestion before, but i guess it wasnt good enought. Well the suggestion is simple about creating temporary and pernament hiden atribus for items,so this hiden atributes would give extra protection effect,or higher damage or critical boost, also those effects would be split to those that have have pernamnet effect and above it could use tempoary effect in same time on same item. Lets just say effects like protection against dread touch that i would make definetly pernament, and effects extending ciritical damage or power of sort boosst could be temporary ,depends on quality of effect in range of 3 hours to 7 days. Some those effect creating item could be droped in flashpoints or whatever. Also there could beffects that could add skills, resistances against stuns or variety of negative effects ... Special hidden attributes could be those that would trigger automatical finishing move or double single attacks without countdown. Summary: And whats actualy the point of the suggestion ? well this would actualy create wide pallette of difference between players so not single player would look like clone army member, with same skills same chances ,definetly alot variety of possibilities ... But if its not done corectly it might encourage complain about it ... how unbalanced everything is... [even if they might have point on that,so they might be right]. Also collecting some of this enchanting hiden atributes items or crafting them, could give players something to do,or atleast more variety what they can do or collect. Ps: Not greatest idea i guess, but seeing how swtor stagnating, and almost nothing improves on side of usable skills or playability of swtor itself ...it is kinda sad,Big Exception Nathema Conspiracy Flashpoint that was surprise. Thanks.
SteveTheCynic
I think this would be a bad idea, mostly because of the "requirement"(1) that people have special-magic attribute X for group content Y. I can imagine the chat conversation: Player without X: Hey guys! PUG members: You loser, you don't have attribute X! * Group kick initiated. Reason: loser without X in content Y. * Group kick accepted. Bye. (1) That is, not really a requirement, but perceived as such by people who don't really know how to play the game. psandak
I agree with SteveTheCynic. You are asking for the "illusion of choice;" No matter how diverse and beneficial the list is, theorycrafters will invariably come up with what is "best" and players will choose that over just about anything else. SteveTheCynic
Steve they doing it anyway, situation - if you say you dont know puzzle on Hard mode Karaga Palace, kick initiated ... Of course, but the theorycrafters will be out and about, and more to the point the cargo-cult followers of the theorycrafters will be out and about. "Theorycraft says that special function Y is the only one that works here[1], you don't have it, bye." And of course this is in Veteran Taral V where it almost doesn't matter what gear you have. [1] Theorycrafters know better than to say things like this. They know perfectly well when things are actually necessary, that is, almost never, and when things can make it easier, and when a particular piece of theorycraft will make no detectable difference at all. There is a third or fourth tier below them who see that the theorycrafters say "X helps a bit, and Y does not help as much", and treat that as "the group will absolutely fail if we do not have X, and it will fail even harder if we have Y instead." They are wrong, but they don't know that.
Lord_Thorne
Because what we really need is indeed yet another reason for elitists, whether 'theorycrafters' or not, to chatter endlessly amongst themselves, compare sizes, and mock those who don't fit their preferred mold. Sure, it sounds like it could be a fun idea (as with so many others) but too many people are jerks.
JamaicanCastle
Isn't that basically what augments are for? You make them, you sell them to people, those people put them in their gear, the gear gets better. Why overcomplicate things?
