omaan
Hey folks, The Schematics to learn these new Augments will not be taught from a trainer. They will be Bind on Equip drops from the new Flashpoint in 5.9. In Master Mode, every boss has a chance to drop a Schematic and the final boss is guaranteed to drop one. Every enemy throughout the Flashpoint has a very low chance to drop one as well. That is the breakdown of what you can expect of the new Augments, coming in Game Update 5.9. Thanks everyone, let us know if you have any questions. -eric If you want new augments FOR PVP you MUST farm recipes IN PVE. Well done devs, another spit on pvp, and probably one of the last (because this game isnt going to last long). This really proves that devs ARENT going to make any relevant pvp content but instead they are going to force those who like pvp to grind recipes in pve. Why should pvp players must run flashpoints to be able to make new augments? Devs do you understand what you are doing? P. S. for those who will say "you can always buy them on gtn" - no, i dont have credits on this but i need these augments for pvp Not to mention tonnes of other problems in pvp: cheaters (yes, the famous shadow on DM), win-trading/backfill /qsync in tr, and sr, too long period of season 9,reskinned civil war, buggs (sorc capping bases on novare with phase walk in mostly unlimited range) etc. Edited April 5, 2018 by omaan

Equeliber
I doubt these augments will affect your efficiency that much. 228 purple -> 236 legendary was a much bigger boost compared to 236 -> 240. It's not gonna have even 100 extra tertiary stats. Big thing about the 236 augs was the extra power added. 240 are said to have the same stats, just bit higher numbers. Probably like 5-6 extra power/tertiary per augment.

Lundorff
P. S. for those who will say "you can always buy them on gtn" - no, i dont have credits on this but i need these augments for pvp. The current 236 augments goes for about 2,5 mio, so lets assume the 240 will go for 4-5 mio at the most. That will be 56-70 mio which is certainly a lot, but nothing insurmountable. A CM name change costs 1000 CCs and will net you ~25 mio on the GTN and 14500 CCs costs $100 so lets some math: 100/14500 = 0,0068965517241379. (0,0068965517241379 x 1000) x 3) = 20,68965517241379 ~ $21 for 14 new augments. Or spend the time to earn the amount by running heroics. Either way, don't be overly dramatic. Threjyan
when the new augs (236) came out i was selling them for 10M plus. i have no reason to think this will be diferent. also its time for me to do some grinding.if i need to do pvp to not be skrewd on rng boxes, i dont see why pvp players cant do pve flashpoint to get recipes. its a one time thinggie, or at the most a few times until u can get the items u need. so i agree this is being overlly dramatic, and who knows, maybe some pvp players may like pve and vice versa. look on the bright side Edited April 5, 2018 by Threjyan

Secondly, lets see the prices on new recipes when they come. In any way, it doesnt change the fact that devs arent doing anything for pvp: the amount of problems in pvp is growing, yet devs arent solving them, the trashmap (oh sorry - roadmap) has nothing about new pvp content. And now we must farm recipes in flashpoint so that devs would get "good" numbers for showing their EA masters that they can finally receive their salary

They have already stated in recent interviews that they are working on making some changes in PvP. Addressing "skank tanks", reintroducing PvP gear, etc. Furthermore this game has ALWAYS favored the more well rounded players. That's likely never ever going to change. This game has ALWAYS had certain things locked behind PvP, or Flashpoints, or Ops, or a Story or an achievement, or whatever. I don't know how many times I've seen this exact thread about someone complaining about that fact in the past. "Why can't we get _____ from _____ too?! Unfair! I'm going to rage quit!!!" It's simple: If you ONLY like to do PvE fine do that but understand that there are things you won't be able to get. If you ONLY like to do PvP fine do that but understand that there are things you won't be able to get. No one including the devs really care if one "doesn't like" certain varieties of game play in a game that is multi faceted.
Storm-Cutter
I agree it's not very friendly for PVP players. - but I'm assuming you only need to run it a few times to get the schematic, then you can craft your own. I for one am willing to team up with any PVP-ers to grind the FP until we all get a schematic. how many additional mats isn't 100% clear. - but for those who do a lot of PVP and chew through command ranks, or indeed do solo/group ranked you'll have plenty of mats to sell to crafters - or indeed swap for Augs. Lets hope the next level of Augs is a PVP only. - and only for winning teams, so the PVE-ers can't sit in corners and emote and cry like babies that they can't/wont PvP. - Best bet now is to use any CCs to buy rare-ish items then sell in a month or two when the sale ends and fresh players are hungry for them, and willing to pay 10s of millions for them. In the end though Skill>gear. IMHO. I just wish I had more of the former.

" No one including the devs really care if one "doesn't like" certain varieties of game play in a game that is multi faceted." You do understand that it is a concern of not only me, and that the more devs do fail changes like this the more players are stopping subscribing? Maybe i should remind you that some of the PRIVATE Servers of other mmo,(like wow) has more online than swtor's 5 servers overall? YEs we cant compare wow and swtor (however, when this game started devs were saying about making 4x more servers as it was at start) but still the situation is terrible, people are leaving. Continue to "dont care", and i bet this game will die near the end of 2018.

translucentwolf
Pvp players also deserve best augments, if devs dont care about pvp they must say it so we can leave swtor to other mmo where devs actually care about pvp Ah, that word. 'deserve'. Those augs are *earned* by the players who play the content where the augs are available. Don't do the content, don't get the recipe. Stop complaining about something that has a really simple solution. Buy augs on gtn. Or do content and craft your own. Deserve's got nothing to do with it. You "earned" it by doing pve content but they are also needed for pvp content so why pvp players cant "earn" it while playing? Turn off the stats from new augments in pvp, and "earn" them in your booring flashpoints every day 24/7.

TrixxieTriss
As a pvper, I’m not overly stressed about where the recipes or the mats come from. I certainly don’t think that’s a reason to unsub. My only concern is people with bolstered gear below 242 essentially can’t use any Augments without them messing up their bolstered stats. So now with even more powerful Augments, those people who are at the bottom of the gear grind ladder will have an even bigger gear disadvantage to those at the top, Augments need to be removed from the Bolster equation so “everyone” can wear them or not wear them based on a choice.
