Nico Quest

I received the items to get Shae and Nico . I already did chapter 9 .

I clicked on the nico item and it said I needed to do a quest called Mixology Profiling

When I go to Zakuul cantina Nico is not there

He is not in my companion list either on either of my characters

Not sure what I am missing

I believe you'll still need to talk to one of the Alliance members first (IIRC it is Hylo). Click on the Mixological Profiling or whatever it is next to Hylo's portrait in the Companions and Contacts tab and travel to contact. You'll have a short conversation with her, and THEN go to Nico

 

Oh, and the thing to summon Nico/Shae will summon them directly and not give you the Alert. You still need to go through the contacts in order to get that little snippet. It won't hurt anything. You can summon Nico, talk to Hylo, do Nico's alert, and it should all be fine. You can also not summon Nico, talk to Hylo, do the alert, and you'll have him that way as well

 

Now that you have that summoning token you'll be able to summon them on your new level one toons, and any other toon without going through KOTFE

You won’t have a short conversation with Hylo until after you recruit Nico. You just click Travel to Alert Location and it will take you to where Nico is.

If you haven't already done "To Find A Findsman", do that. That unlocks the Alliance Alert system (in the top of the "N" Companions and Contacts" panel).

 

Then look in that panel for the alert (by Hylo Visz if memory serves) "Mixology Profiling".

Thanks, I remember there being a conversation with her but it may have been the conversation afterwards that I was remembering. Either way, you get to Nico through the Hylo alert

Yeah. But you should be able to use the communicator, even if you have done the chapter IX, no?

It's not like Mixological Profiling is even difficult. You talk to Nico, click on a few things, talk to Nico again, done. And getting Shae *is* exactly like getting Hexid and Ranos ... you just talk to her in the Alliance base.

 

Not to mention, as others have already said, just use the communicator if this tiny bit of effort is actually too difficult.

This is a recurring problem in this forum - you see one doofus complaining and instantly assume everyone who asked for the comps is the problem.

 

How about we don't assume that this guy is the norm, eh?

Perhaps not the first time? I wonder if they tweaked these tokens...

I have the originals--I can use those tokens anytime I want, from level 1 onwards, and they are immediately there (Nico, Shae, Hexid, Ranos). They're good for crew skills when you only have one other companion from the story early on.

But I really can't remember if I had to do the Alert first before the tokens worked that way, or if they always worked that way. All I know is with 100% certainty I can use those tokens on anyone I want after the Alert, at the very least.

You can't get the achievement if you use the communicator.

 

Shae doesn't have any achievements. One thing they might have done when re-releasing these comps [call it a reward for vets too if you like] is add kill count achievements for both of them. Otherwise they're just crafting monkeys after the first convo.

So, I thought we wouldn't be seeing these in the mail until the 5th. If that's not the case than I haven't received mine and should probably check into that.
