Yeah, don't worry, I was pretty sure you were joking about that, but some tiny part of my brain said I should ask. It was such a small part that I wouldn't call it "hope", but it would have nagged at me. I feel kind of bad that that nagging bit of me spoiled the joke. This idea isn't required to be limited to Vaylin but what about ... a non story companion purchased through the cartel market? Then you get money!
