I think it's a combination of two things. 1) A lot of the people with records in the 5.1 thread have un-subbed. 2) The standard of play is so terrible, the remaining players capable of 7k + dps are only getting 4-5k dps a match as the other team melt too easily; and that's with 4 healers in the opposition team. For perfect heal games I need lots of dmg on the enemy team (which means they are good and don't die so its sustained) and I need tanks spreading damage on my team and/or dot spread on enemy team so that my people always have less than 75% health and can take full advantage of AOE heals. Thats how you get the 12k+HPS. Those games used to come once a week you'd get a 10-12k (opportunity). I havent had one in months. Enemy team dies out quickly, my team dies quickly, team spreads all over the map, the match is a cardio workout etc. Same goes with DPS. If the enemy team dies out too quickly you're left out of combat waiting for them to respawn. These situations just do not produce good numbers consistently. I can only play on east coast, but generally I filled the role of mid damage/control for my group because I often had several objectively aware players who would gladly guard (or tanks who actually ran huttballs). Lately I've been doing a lot more of the "dirty work" because of less experienced pug players, so my numbers have been down as well. 7k games are becoming less frequent.
