I don't care how much CXP boost you get, RNG is RNG

250% more CXP; hey I won't turn it down but all that means is I'll just be disnintegrating junk a little more often than I used to as set bonus pieces are the only ones worth keeping due to how bolster manipulates the stats; and those hardly ever drop

Still a bad system no matter how many band-aids you stick over it.

True... but it DOES address one issue since 5.0 released ----> GC leveling closer to their original intention of under an hour per level.

What folks need to keep in mind is RNG is not the only issue with GC. And even RNG is not a real issue IF.. IF they had put in vendor based safeguards to begin with. It's a temporary measure until they put in the 5.1.1 and 5.1.2 changes (which are STILL not enough to fix everything).

There are multiple fixes needed to GC to get it where they allegedly wanted it to be on paper at launch. Some of these:

They need to dial it in for a faster leveling pace of GC.

They need to provide vendor based safeguards for ALL players of ALL content types, not just PvP and raiders.

They need to make every type of content reward Cxp in matching proportion to effort/risk required.

They need to improve the loot tables for crates to have a higher chance to drop set bonus pieces, and less of other things.

Your title says it all. But I will turn it down. The entire thing makes the end game to frustrating to even bother with. Although I expect you'll see less and less negative posts as those of us who told them we'd leave if they kept it as the main gearing system run out of sub time and go on to other things.

that cause the nerf CXP with in week of launching 5.0.. nerfed CXP in wz with 5.1 when they added legacy boost perks... I have feeling what we get back in next patches will just put back to what it was original

i dont expect that to be fixed any time soon, it was said once before by some one else i forgot who,

But command crates should drop

tier1 230@80% chance cause entry level

tier2 234@60% / 236 @50%

Tier3 240@ 40% / 242 @ 30%

forget about the endless junk droping from it cause it more junk then actual set grade gear 90% time

something similar to this should be used

We had this super awesome and simple system back in the day...

You did group: you got currency. You spent this currency on whatever you wanted.

You did an ops. Your raid group got guaranteed set item tokens from bosses as well as currency.

You had a fixed rewarded for doing content.

Then some idiot in the office decided that a tried and true system was too complicated . Too. Effing. Complicated. An RNG system would be "exciting" and definitely get more people to play and enjoy the game. To get addicted to the RNG.

No words can describe just how stupid and irresponsible this decision was.

If they just left everything as it was and added this RNG layer on as a supplement everything would have been fine. Instead we have a convoluted mess the devs have no idea how to fix.

Actually, GC gearing is designed for one thing. Keep subs subbed longer. That is what BW told EA share holders they had a new system to do. So, as long as you keep grinding they are happy. They don't care if you like it or not, just keep grinding. They know the drop rates are extremely low which is why they have no problem upping the rate at which you get boxes. And if rumors about 5.2 are correct, it will just get worse then.

If those percents are accurate I should have gotten 23 242's. And I understand all about statistics and unique instances, it is possible to miss a 30% chance 78 times. But sheesh it is demotivating!!!

They aren't. I expect the top chance is under 5% based on what myself and others I know have gotten. Further, I expect they will quietly adjust the chance downward as they increase the rate you get boxes to keep the grind timetable out to a year or more.

Some idiot in the office decided RNG means people have to grind for a long time, which according to their logic must obviously equate to longer subs and thus more money.

To be honest, ever since the CM and the endless stream of recolored armors, RNG packs, the slot-machine debacle, etc etc, they've been pretty brazen about it. At this point they're just seeing how far they can push their 'milk it for all it's worth'-tactic onto their customers before it all falls apart.

Cut costs (read: actual gameplay content, balancing etc) and throw as much money-making schemes at the player base as possible.

Honestly this whole galactic command garbage and RNG for end game gearing system. Reeks of a desperate cry by dev's to reach out and get a foot in the door to the larger asian markets to which this system holds a mass appeal. But in typical fashion it's been an epic failure. Now it feels like people are doing spin doctor and damage control to right this train wreck.

I hope no hope they'll do the responsible thing and fire the brains behind galactic command, ( it feels like galactic command is here to stay ) . I would love to see 4.0 venders and commendation system return. It'd be an improvement over this convuluted disaster we got currently.

The addressing of gaining galactic command gains is nice.... but they fail to address the contents of the crates. you can't have any end game with this system where your held hostage by RNG. I can't even get a solid Operations team together willing to grind out ranks to get gear. Gear that never drops. No reward for disintrgating the garbage the crates contain.

People just don't want to grind the same boring junk we've done for the last 5+ years to end up with junk items that get disintgrated . then maybe if RNG is nice to you in a years time you got a full tier 1 set with maybe one or two tier 2 pieces. this is just not worth subbing for.

Address the RNG and you might get me to reconsider wanting to renew my sub in spring. This is a ship sinking faster then the Titanic and the people in charge all want to sell us on sunshine of" thrill of the hunt" and" random number generated loot is exciting" ..... This isn't what I as a paying sub wish to hear nor is it anything remotely close to motivate me to spend more money on a sub renewal in spring.

The only feedback they are understanding is the "unsubscribe" button on the account page. They don't care about the rest as long as people keep paying.

Well said.

It doesn't matter how many times you pull the slot machine handle in the RNG casino swtor has turned in to but all it means is more things will be disintegrated as the quality of items is not there.

Even bw claiming there going to make it better means nothing right now when it matters. With the increase in CXP gains. You gain more garbage and that isn't anything to get excited about.

GC is designed to make you want to continue to play the game in numerous ways other than just ops/pvp. Fixed it for you.

the % i put are NOT the % in the crates... IT what they should of been, if they insisted on using RNG please read...

Current 230/234/240 rates are more like rate chance of something inbetween the GOLD/PLATINUM items in Cartel packs

And 236/242 is like PLATINUM rate of chance in cartel packs if not worse.

WOW, it sure accomplished THAT

It did, all depends on what you enjoy doing. I enjoyed doing flashpoints/gsf/pvp and heroics before 5.0. Unfortunately prior to 5.0 I stood on the fleet waiting for spamming on pug groups on my days off to gear up so that I could join my guild when they raid if I had time. That sure and hell wasnt fun. Now I get to log in and do many different activities and work on gear so when my guild raids if I have time available I can join them. I am sorry that you dont enjoy doing many different things in game that you dont see how rewarding the new system can be.

I haven't run a single heroic since 5.1. I mean, why bother? The Czerka planetary missions were fast and easy but really heroics are not a very incentivized path at all.

If anything, GC has made me focus more on just PvP.

It's accomplishing the opposite of what you implied, at least in my case.

Well your problem is your not looking at the system on how its leveling your complaining because you want to level up fast so you choice to repeat content over and over because you want to maximize your command ranks. So you focus on pvp because your a player that needs to have stuff as soon as possible. Yes pvp is one of the fastest way sof obtaining gear right now. So yes this system doesnt help the player that is going to constantly focus on the best way to level. So those players would complain because they will do the same thing over and over to gear up quickly and not see why this is a better system. That is your choice but the players that don't log in and think of how to maximize their command ranks are going to enjoy this system. Because they will log in and play however they want and see them rank up in the mean time. I know people who spent tons of time doing fractured over and over constantly and I am about 60 command ranks behind them but that's okay, because I rather log in and play multiple ways like pvp/gsf/heroics/Story/uprisings/ops and enjoy leveling it up, then grinding one thing over and over. I guess thats why I love the new system.

Actually no, I focus on PvP because it is what I enjoy doing. What I am saying is that the system has NOT provided me any incentive to play parts of the game I would not ordinarily be playing. If anything, it's making me spend more time doing the thing I really enjoy.

Well nothing before 5.0 could of made you want to play any other parts of the game. Especially since pvp had expertise. So this system doesnt really affect you before or after other than how much longer it takes you then before to gear up. At least now if you choose to play another aspect of the game you will be rewarded with cxp to work towards gear. Before 5.0 if you did anything other than pvp it wouldnt help you get pvp gear.
