250+ Packs in, still no platinum

Hello Eric,

So today I opened another hypercrate and well I still did get any of the Eternal Command platinum items.

We are speaking of looting roundly 1000 items.

Seems the RNG is severely broken here and not encouraging players to pull the trigger.

You guys should seriously look into adding back the CM certificates and reputation tokens ; if not improving the drop rate. I mean on top of the 2 "above average" items per pack.

(edit) Finally got a platinum : Unstable Arbiter's Dualsaber. Took roundly 325 packs.

While I only spent in game credits, at the best $/CC and CC/crates rates, we are speaking of 12.5 hypercrates, (58,500CC) so $400 for a platinum.

Also thanks for keeping the lights on at BW:A offices

I get this is a tongue in cheek type post but that's about normal for RNG on platinum items I've found.

I open a hypercrate or 2 a day, sometimes more, ( until I literally run out of space and have to wait to sell through some more items - luckily items stack in your stash heh ) and getting 1 platinum item in 10 hypercrates would seem sort of the minimum I would expect.

I remember when the first Arbiter sabers dropped I went through nearly 20 hypercrates before I got one too drop.

Something else odd I noted over this past couple of weeks is I seem to get far worse gold drop rates off the non "discounted" pack ( eternal command ) than I do the others.

For example I got 3 gold items total in 3 hypercrates yesterday ( 1 manipulator and 2 oppressor ) and then bought an eternal command crate and 7 gold drops from the 1 crate.

I've noted similar results over the past couple of weeks too but maybe it's just my RNG imagination.

As to spending much on these I've never spent a cent on CC in this game - it's fully from credits. I get that someone had to spend money on these ( or free CC ) but meh, I've nothing else to spend credits on and opening packs is kinda fun when it costs you nothing ( since all my credits come from an hour a days worth of GTN selling if that ).

lol I got a platinum in my first eternal command hypercrate.

But when it comes to hypercrates RNGesus favors me. I always get most of what I want with one.

Is there a club I can subscribe to your RNG god? ;)

Nope. cool kid only sry

I also got a Black and Black dye today when I randomly decided to buy two dye packs.

The tradeoff seems to be getting **** luck with the GC. I suppose it wont matter as much once 5.1 hits tho.

Where did you put all those items ? 1000 you said ?

And more importantly, how the heck you find anything between them ?

Yes, I know. I'm being totally insensitive regarding your luck.

*sad panda face*

Unlocked inventory slots and have them stored on mostly 2 alts

Also selling the ones I can

Command stash = win.

Items that don't stack in inventory stack in the stash ( I had 45 midtnight racer upper armors at one stage in my stash - not sure what the hell is in there now ).

So if you are only opening a few different crates and not opening every chance cube ( as that makes many more unique items - this is where most of my space goes ) you can open a ton of packs/crates for very little space.

Of course getting them out again is going to take a long time ( that's what my time as preferred is going to be good for ).

Not sure what Platinum crates are, but I decided to buy a bunch of hyper crates and opened them.

Here is what I got so far. No idea whats the value of the stuff, just spending the coins I been hording in 2016

Of the 3 hypercrates I opened here I got 1 cool light saber, rest is just random stuff that'll make me a few million on the market maybe.

I opened like 10 in August and got 4 of those Defiant Vented light sabers. Gave 2 away, kept 1 sold one.

Platinum is the grade of rarity, as in Bronze/Silver/Gold/Platinum (corresponding to the CM logo color on your CM item).

Unstable Peacemaker’s Lightsaber found in the Eternal Command packs is a Platinum piece for example.

Platinums should theoretically be the rarest ones to find in packs.

Cool, Thanks for taking the time to explain that.

Oh yeah and their response to the fact I received broken courting gifts in my crates was...it's a lottery. Sometimes you get stuff that's nice and sometimes you get useless junk. I then declared after wasting $20 that I would not waste another dollar on rng crap. If they want to sell the item directly, I may purchase it but I will not buy 5 crates of junk. Because it's all junk except .01 of them. To me, it's considered theft....like a game purposely designed for the house to win every time. The thing is though if there was a higher drop rate then I'd be buying lots of crates. I'll save my money since they're stingy.
