ChroniKill Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Returning player here. I remember back in 3.1 someone had made a very useful spreadsheet which detailed every crew skill, the most efficient recipe to craft and the materials needed to get to the cap at the time. Does the same exist for 5.0 and if so, could someone post a link? Thanks.
wainot-keel Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 Now it's easy and straightforward. And faster than before. Orange difficulty patterns level your skill by 4, yellow I think it's 2 or 3, and green 1. All crew skills are the same in terms of leveling. Just craft the basic components (Cell crafts for biochem, Bonded attachments for synthweaving, etc ) the ones you need to actually craft anything. The first grades are the "longest" ones. I mean, you learn the the skill to be able to learn the next basic component (the next grade ) schematic from trainer you need to level it up 80, then 160, then 240 and so on until 400. Then you avdvance one grade every 50, up to 600. How many mats you need for every grade I don't remember. Probably for the ones that take 80 points with 50 units of mats of each type should be enough, maybe less. Remember you can craft some and then RE those components and get some mats back to keep crafting until you are able to learn the new component for the next grade This works exactly the same for all skills
psandak Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 craft 60 grade 1 components and 30 of every subsequent grade and you will hit 600.
BerkAydin Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 craft 60 grade 1 components and 30 of every subsequent grade and you will hit 600. Roughly how many credits would that cost if we were to purchase all the materials?
psandak Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 Roughly how many credits would that cost if we were to purchase all the materials? Too many variables to calculate. What I can tell you is that running missions to get those materials, if we assume zero RE to get materials back...roughly 650k. Since you get roughly half mats back with RE you can cut that in half. But in my experience, materials on the GTN cost more than double what they cost to acquire. So if you were to buy all materials off the GTN, expect to pay 750k or more WITH REing to get mats back.
dr_mike Posted January 9, 2017 Posted January 9, 2017 (edited) The library has google blocked yet again as a sex **** site so I can't give the direct link but torcommunity has updated their guides to level 600 and they break down each step. If you google 'torcommunity skill leveling guide', it should come right up. edit: Fired up the VPN - https://torcommunity.com/guides/swtor-crew-skills Along the right hand side, page down once, to find the links. I hope this helps Edited January 9, 2017 by dr_mike
ChroniKill Posted January 10, 2017 Author Posted January 10, 2017 I boosted artifice over the weekend by buying mats. It was about 1m credits net loss once I'd sold back the excess mats (the stuff i crafted didn't really sell). I suspect it will vary significantly dependent on the skill to level.
psandak Posted January 11, 2017 Posted January 11, 2017 On average, because you get roughly half mats back from RE, you can probably get away with half the materials you need to craft the number of components. i.e. instead of buying 120 or each grade 1 material you can buy 60 of each... craft 30RE everythingcraft 15RE everycraft 7RE everythingcraft 4RE everythingcraft 2 RE everythingcraft 1 or craft 15RE everycraft 7RE everythingcraft 4RE everythingcraft 2 RE everythingcraft 1 That's 29 craftings. This obviously will take longer because you are doing more passes, but it will save credits.
