I just Cancelled my Subscription

No. You cannot have my stuff.

Also, that doesn't mean I'm never logging in again. I'm sure I will. I just do not plan on playing on a regular/daily basis.

It just means, when/if I do play, I will have the preferred status instead of the subscriber status.

To be clear, I'm not mad. I'm actually sad. I haven't been playing since launch, but I have been playing since March of 2012, a time before the game went free to play. The game has been a big source of my entertainment for just under 5 years, and I've actually enjoyed the large majority of all content released since I started playing, the class stories being the crown jewel (so to speak) of the game (in my opinion; you can disagree with me. That's fine, and I won't call you this and that if you disagree with me).

My reasons for cancelling boil down to two points.

1. Not enough NEW endgame content.

Yes. There is end game content, but what we currently have is getting stale.

EV, KP, TFB, DF, DP, etc. are great operations for the game. Yes, I know there are a few more, but those have been my favorite. The only operation I haven't tried is ToS. But, how many times can I run them before it gets old? Pretty much the same for Flashpoints.

And by the way, Star Fortress and Uprisings don't really count. I don't feel the need to elaborate on that point.

2. CXP.

I don't feel the need to say much about this point (because much has already been said). I'll just add this. CXP is the method to get end game gear. But, get that gear for what? The same stuff I've been doing for 2 years or more that I'm getting bored of?

Below is what I put in the text box on the form where they ask why you are unsubscribing.

Take note that while I do express my grievances, I don't insult the company or any group or individual and basically keep it civil. Also, I explicitly say that depending on what the future of the game looks like, I may consider reactivating my subscription (which would make someone really happy if I use their referral link).

"The actual story content (class stories, RotHC, SoR, KotFe, KotET) is wonderful, but after completing the story multiple times I don't have much to look forward to. I've been doing the same end game content for a few years now, and I need something fresh. There needs to be regular releases (at least 2 times a year) of new end game content, specifically new daily/weekly areas/missions, new Flashpoints, new Operations, and new warzones (for pvp). Uprisings are not the proper response for new end game content. I'm sorry, but they feel very lackluster and like they were rushed, a last minute addition to KotET in order to give lip service (so to speak) to the customers that want new end game content. The Galactic Command (CXP) system makes matters worse as it is now harder to gear my characters. And, gear them for what? The same stuff I've been doing for 2 or more years?

I'll consider renewing my subscription depending on how I receive the news in the live stream later this month that will discuss future group content and just new content in general and preview potential roadmaps for the game. But for now, I can't justify spending $15 a month on this game at this time.

I'm not mad. I'm actually sad because the game succeeds in the story telling department and even has great end game content (the existing dailies, weeklies, pvp, operations, and flashpoints), but these get old after doing the same thing for a few years. Thank you for the game content that's been delivered so far. I will be waiting to hear news about the future of this game."

but you don't need it anymore

Like me, if they give us back stuff like ops gear that is a 100% drop per boss, many of us will come back, and if we do come back we will need our stuff. This is why i never gave away my WoW stuff, because im playing it in hopes they may actually improve the gearing by making ops drop tokens 100% of the time, not 20% of the time like it will be in 5.1. And hopefully they give us 8-man group content. You just can't ask for group content because then they give us 4 man content like uprisings, need to say 8-man content. Hopefully the devs will realize the error of their ways and actually give players what they want. Which is... Least 1 new 8/16-man content each expansion, gear token drops from ops bosses are 100%, pvp gearing is fixed (won't know how it will be in 5.1 but people dont seem to like it), CXP is ok if you have pvp gearing and ops gearing like it was in 4.0, and that will be enough for most players. Cross server pvp can be tricky with the hero engine and depending how the code is (many things could go wrong with it).

Just to be clear (if it wasn't obvious in my original post), I want the game to succeed. By succeed I mean get real, quality end game content and provide a realistic way to obtain end game gear and move forward with great story content and of course be profitable (in the money sense) for the company so the game lives on. I realize this is a business (nobody working on SWTOR is likely doing it for free, and they shouldn't), so yes, profitability is important. I'm not saying that every single decision aimed to increase revenue has been great. I'm just saying, hey, everyone needs to eat.

I want Bioware or EA or whoever is truly calling the shots to give me (and others) a real, valid reason to resubscribe.

Realistically, I want to see those 2 things, back to the pre 5.0 system of gearing (or something comparable). Just hearing the gearing changes in 5.1 from the live stream doesn't sound very promising. But, I will wait to hear how people feel about it once 5.1 is live. And of course, new, end game repeatable content. As stated before Star Fortress and Uprisings don't count.

I have a wishlist of things I would like to see though it is just mere wishing, not a realistic expectation.

1. Return to class stories. I think a lot (or at least some) people in the days of 1.x before we knew about RotHC were expecting or hoping for a continuation of the class stories, not a one size fits all. While the one size fits all stories have been enjoyable, I'm itching for a continuation of class story. The 1 class missions we got in SoR were a great surprise. Honestly, back when 3.0 was released, I was hoping that those little class missions were leading into more class missions in 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, etc, except that isn't what happened. I think by now though, expecting class missions is nothing more than wishful hoping.

2. New planets to explore or entirely new big sections on old planets open. I don't mean like planets that we received in 5.0, just a one time visit with a very restricted access to the planet. I mean a big planet that is fully explorable like Tatooine or Voss with multiple faction based settlements that contain NPCs (I'll even settle for terminals) that give daily missions. And, on these planets, maybe even some new world bosses. Makeb was not really what I wanted out of a new planet, but before 4.0, it was a nice daily area.

3. Companions. Lots of people have posted volumes on companions, and rightfully so. I say, let's go back to like only a handful of companions (like 5), have our PC establish/continue a strong relationship (in the romantic AND platonic sense where applicable) meaning more companion conversations and maybe even a few companion missions or side story arc. It's not a perfect vision, but off the top of my head have like 5 companions with the top 5 highest influence permanently join you (with a mechanic for being able to choose if if you have more than 5 at max influence level). Maybe even an option like "pick the 5 companions you want to be your personal team (#TeamBarsenthor, #TeamEmperorsWrath) and send the rest on their way or send the rest to reinforce your faction or whatever." The spirit of what I'm getting at is have your companions be meaningful again, instead of "here's a million companions that have little to no significance storywise and have little reason to even associate with you." companions obtained as subscriber rewards (Ranon, hk55/1, Treek, Shae, CM companions like the Wampa stay no matter what, because, well you paid for them or worked extremely hard to get like hk51).

Oh, and yes, I want to see the return of at least all remaining love interests, in a meaningful way. I'll lower my standards and say, let's just at bare minimum get Kira back. If I could only choose one more companion to return, I say, please let it be Kira. Not to take anything away from Jaesa, Nadia, Ashara, etc. Especially with all the story has been doing, it feels a little odd that Scourge didn't return. I secretly think that the game (if it continues) will do something like "Scourge and Khem Val fought each other to the death and neither survived". But, I base that off nothing.

Anyway, those are my hopeful wishing wishlist of things I want in this game. Yes, most if not all have little to no chance of happening.
