Is it just me, or do companions run like they forgot to turn sprint on since the patch?

I constantly find my companions lagging behind me when I move on foot, whether around the fleet or during chapters, to the point where they disappear, leash, and pop back into existence next to me, only to start the dance all over again.

Is anybody else getting this?

Yes OP, definitely.

Another thing I've noticed since 5.0, my companions are frequently vanishing under the floor.

During combat the enemy npcs are looking down, shooting at a spot on the floor.

The companion continues to perform their combat role, they just are not visible.

Yes, it's a big problem with companions.

Something I'm sure is on the ignored list of items to fix by Bioware, which is right in line with everything else that's been a bug and still not fixed.

Known issue. Been mentioned a few times previously without acknowledgement.

edit: The game should auto catch up the companion if they get far enough behind.

I've noticed a couple of odd behaviours:

- They don't follow close/move slowly as OP has noted

- They don't engage in combat very quickly. This could be associated with the distance

- They 'forget' to heal even when on heal mode

I have wondered if there's a correlation between the behaviour and level - if it's a way to give the companion levels more relevance i.e. a level 1 companion wanders off, but a level 50 comp is right next to you and jumps in faster. I haven't really spent any time investigating it because I've been levelling 25 alts from 65-70, but it's my working theory for now.

Nope, my lvl 50 comp is as lazy and cowardly hides under the floor as the rest ;)
