So returning player coming back to enjoy some SWTOR :) When I first installed the game I was running 60 FPS + Any where I went. This was on all high settings. I woke up this morning and my fps was only going from 20-40 fps. In warzones it dropped to 10. My drivers are up to date. Windows up to date, full scan of my anti virus. Malware bytes used, CC cleaner check . Lowered all my settings to LOW with still the same 20-40 fps . I can't seem to fix it D: Anyone know any solutions?

Windows 10 - 64 bit

Intel I7-6700 CPU @ 2.60ghz (8 cpus) ~ 2.6ghz

8gb Ram

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 M

P.S. I can still run battlefield 1 on high settings with no frame issues.

Disable enemy NPC nameplates and friendly player nameplates.

Nameplate scaling at distance is the setting that causes the lag most players see. Of course you could disable it but then you would have screen filled with names and you couldn't see anything else.

From what I understand SWTOR is rather CPU heavy. It uses one core only and it uses it well. So at 2.6 Ghz that could be an issue for SWTOR.

That's what I've understood from posts in the past about this topic anyway.

^Pretty much the case. 2.6 just isn't grunty enough to cater to warzones/operations anymore.

Even though it's an old game people need to realise they have constantly been adding effect to the animations and also tinkering with the engine. 5.0 brought in some improvement so prior to this your performance would have even been worse.

Only real solution when you want to play the more intensive parts of the game like warzones ( CPU has a lot of work to do there, it's not all GPU processing ) they simply might just need to upgrade.

Your CPU is more than sufficient. You are running the same specs that I do (a 2014 Razer Blade), but I don't see these issues myself. I am not sure what to recommend the cause could be, but the answer certainly isn't that you need to upgrade your system, especially if this suddenly started happening.

Swtor is very CPU depended. I see You have nice one. I know that by upgraded my CPU. Try download Directx 9c (it wont override Your dx10/11/12) You should get fps boost.
