Hi there, can someone tell me exactly what "Locked in collections" means?

 

Also, if I unlock something in collections, can characters from the light AND dark side use it?

You unlock items in the Collection usually with Cartel Coins, since these items are usually Cartel Items.

 

That unlock is - if you unlocked for your account - for ALL player characters account-wide. Regardless of light or dark or whatever.

 

You only need to be careful to unlock the item for the whole account.

For armor sets you need to full set to be able to unlock it.

 

And to be able to unlock it, it must be used at least once.

I hope I didn't write something wro9ng. I'm never sure about that, because I'm not an expert. There is always someone else out there ( usually a nerd ) who knows things better ...

Besides what he wrote...

"Locked in Collections" also means you don't have the full set (or any of it) yet, and can't unlock in collections

"Unlocked for Character in Collections" means you have "unlocked" it on the present character, and he can use the Collections to retrieve unlimited copies. But only on this character

"Unlocked for Account in Collections" means you have it, have paid the collections unlock fee, and can retrieve unlimited copies for any character you have or make.

Do you mean "Republic and Empire" here? Because light and dark are down to how you answer conversations as you play, not which faction you are on.

Actually, "Unlocked for Character in Collections" means you have unlocked it on *a* character in your legacy, but it might not be the current one. (I don't know what happens if you unlock something on a character and then delete the character. I'm not about to try, either.)

Once it's unlocked, it stays unlocked.

No, I meant without account-unlocking before the deletion. Does it remain "Unlocked for Character" or does something else happen?

If it's unlocked for a character, any character can pay to unlock it account-wide. If you delete a character, anything that was unlocked by that character is still available to be account-wide unlocked by another character.
