Command tokens - an alternative idea

I spent a while talking to a couple of guildies last night. One of them does a lot more PvP than the rest of us.

He suggested a better end game gearing system based on how the PvP gearing used to work.

In order to make this work, you need to assign a number of tokens to each type off mob/champion/boss in the game. So say a Champion in the wild is worth 1 token, in a Heroic it's worth 3 tokens, in a Flashpoint it's worth 5 tokens and in a SM Op it's worth 10. Set some higher number for each boss, it should be more than you can get killing everything on the boss. Give an award to all end-game missions as well and a set number to each medal in a PVP match up to 8 medals (with a bonus for each MVP vote.) Set some sort of award value on the GC crates so whenever you actually get a level you get some tokens but otherwise leave the crates as is.

These tokens are then used like old Warzone coms were used to buy tier one gear. Tier 2 gear costs more plus the tier 1 shell and tier 3 costs more yet plus the tier 2 shell. Tier 1 gear should be affordable with what you get out of about 1 1/2 operations. So for exmaple, say the teir 1 gear costs 250 tokens, the tier 2 gear should cost say 1250 tokens plus the tier 1 shell and the tier 3 gear should cost 5000 tokens plus the tier 2 shell (just a rough example to show the general idea.) Even scaling up the awards for higher level ops (HM should award more than SM and NiM more than HM.) the higher levels of gear should take a bit longer to get which will encourage end game players to actually play end game to get the better gear faster, but still leave that gear available to anyone in the game. Make the tokens Legacy bound and the gear shells BOP.

This solves the RNG problem, leaves gear open to whoever wants to actually work to get it, gives end game players a clear path to getting the gear they want and gets rid of the RNG as the primary source of end-game gearing that no one but the devs seems to think is really a good idea.
