I Hate Diplomacy Now

I just made a toon and took Diplomacy in order to raise my Light points. I was surprised when I failed a mission and received a Dark point. This got me upset. Even though my Light will be much greater than my Dark, I still don't like having any Dark points.

I don't know if Dark points will prevent me from reaching maximum Light points or not.

Even if I can still max out my Light, I still like to be Pure Light with no Dark.

Please change this so that mission failures don't mean points on the opposite side.

Once you hit light side five it removes all dark side points. So, even if you gain some dark side points as soon as you hit the max level again - they'll be removed.

At least that's how it used to be.

I thought it was reach light V, then all light points offset any dark points till none are left. I don't recall it being instant, though it's a w2hile since I paid any attention to it, esp now that they have screwed it up completely - the light side missions give dark side points and the dark side missions give light side points. It needs a careful mouseover before assigning any mission.

I'm pretty sure this is the case. My Light V Sage accidentally got some DS points by failing a mission. I was kind of bummed about that, but kept on running the missions. A few days later, I noticed the DS points were gone.

I have two characters that I run Diplomacy with. They have had no issues with the small amount of dark points they get from running missions. Light points swamp out the effects and as already noted... once you cap Light V... you will see no issues. One of my characters capped Light V last week, and the other is pretty close.

Note: Diplomacy is no longer the only crew skill that rewards points according to your choice of Light or Dark.

You are only Light or Dark 5 when you are at max in one and 0 in the other. If you hit the LS max, any LS points you earn are deducted from your DS total until it reaches 0, at which point you get Light 5. Earn any more DS points, and you become Light 4 until you do enough good to erase what you earned.

Before you take a mission, hover over the light/dark icon so you can avoid those that reward both.
This.

They should probably do away with the built-in alignment for diplomacy now that it's got a global override and affects all crew missions.

However, as far as I know, Diplomacy is the only one that has missions that award both Light and Dark points. The others award a set amount based on your DvL toggle. Diplomacy awards that amount, plus an additional Dark or Light amount, based on the specific mission. Unless you actually hover over the indicator, you won't know which are the Dark and which are the Light missions.
