Imurdestiny
Yes, yes I know it's a huge thing to suggest, but just hear me out... First let me say I just discovered Swtor's best kept secret of Crew Skill crafting long after I repeatedly played the content, only because there was no incentive to do so in the early game. When I discovered crafting... it changed my SWTOR life! i love it, so this isn't a rant. I love the new chapters, and I think the crafting side of SWTOR should be revealed as important to the alliance, and rebuilding the worlds we have saved. There is a story there, maybe even a chapter that walks the level 60+ player through the end game grafting mission content via cinematic story telling. The new Eternal Alliance/Empire must secure resources to re-purpose. The player must travel to the hardest hit worlds and fight off looters, and establish security parameters, then present leaders with shipments of goods ... blah blah blah.... NOTE** I noticed that that the developers have already set up the Alliance for this, since you have 4 "in house" alliance leaders to whom crafting shipments might go or be distributed, for example: Admiral Aygo can use materials for armortech, with the galaxy in disarray, there is simply nowhere to recommission new gear for the growing number of soldiers. Sena Raye would insist on protecting artifacts and attempting crystal regrowth measures via mystics and Alliance force users within her team Doctor Oggurobb will attempt to improve upon medpac efficiancy and life-saving simulants to begin the healing of populations Hylo Visz Can sell broken tech on the black market to fund the relief efforts of the crew missions Each of these priorities would produce a series of missions within the crew skill UI, that would make sense. After the initial walk-through to demonstrate why you are making your companions take off on missions, create a 4th button on the crew skill UI for "Aquisitions" where a player may send, not one, but up to 4 companions (in addition to those on individual missions) of their choice on a mission to acquire resources for various (your choice) alliance friends. The mission results in approval points which helps unused companions level outside of direct game play, and the drops are a random mix of useful rewards. I love all the new companions gained in Knights of the Fallen Empire, but due to the content the main ones level beyond the lesser ones and make them obsolete, unless I feed them a bunch of gifts (which I think at higher levels becomes cumbersome, especially for level boosted characters). I would like a useful way to level them, and since there are so many to collect, a group crew skill would be awesome. Reward drops for Crew groups helping to provide the worlds of the Alliance with goods might be something like this: "Meta Nodes" , plant-able node fixtures for the Stronghold that are farm-able for skill levels over 450. The nodes could be any kind (and provide 4x the yield with the same rest period as current), since the Stronghold is accessible to the Legacy. Provides incentive to purchase strongholds througout the gameMake crafting less time consuming for Endgamers who like to achieve moreEncourages players to complete missions and level all crew skills Rare items "shipments", instead of getting 1-2 pieces of rare fabric, metals or components the random drop is multiplied by the number of companions, so x4 for crew groups. Allows extra incentive to use the utilityAdded value in GTN, since players who need to craft gear quickly will buy materialsIncreases the chance of crafting excellent goods for legacy or GTN New crew group missions are dropped from any gathering skill after 450 has been achieved (but only useful after Knights of the Fallen Empire since it is directly tied to the Alliance activities- They are random and rare, but these drops allow a person to send more than one group, and the number of crew members deployed depends upon the mission . ALL crew members gain points for their efforts based upon mission success. Added value for companionsIncreased enthusiasm to collect all alliance counterparts as companionsCreates interest in characters below level 60 to maintain crafting expertise I currently have 13 companions on one of my Main Characters. I can only use 2 or 3 effectively, but with a slight evolution within the crew system, I can level characters like NIko, Vizla, and alliance followers I like. I don't want to go into battle with a low level companion when I'm slogging through mob clusters. I think this would be great just to balance out the companion point distribution. I don't know if I organized my thoughts well enough to make sense, but there's my thought.
