Istaria Posted December 7, 2016 Posted December 7, 2016 So! After an absence of multiple years I've finally required a pc and eager to get some gaming going again. Question I have tho while I install and watch the bar tick along, how much has the game changed? Exceptionally from what I've heard but let's specify. I used to play a level 50 Guardian tank, eager to return to tanking I'm apprehensive tho about picking up my Guardian again. With all the new changes, are Guardians still viable tanks? Has the game changed so much it's preferable to start from scratch at level 1 and relearn?
Derfburger Posted December 8, 2016 Posted December 8, 2016 I was gone for a few years when I returned was right before 4.0. My main was a level 50 as well and I was totally lost. I would advise keeping your level 50, but starting a new level 1 of some other class just to relearn the game. The game has progressed quite a bit just since pre 4.0 until now and even more so from 2.0 or 3.0. Leveling is now super fast as you can level using just the main story and skip all the side quests if you chose to. Once I got back into it I ended up with 10 alts all above level 50 (2 of which are max level and several more close behind). Also make sure you are on a well populated server. When I returned my character had been moved several times (as well as had her name taken lol) and I ended up on Pot5 which was a terrible server with no population. I almost quit when I saw how empty the server was until I managed to transfer to an awesome server (Ebon Hawk US East coast).
