Cryingwolfe Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 (edited) Generally I try to avoid posting in any type or form of MMO gaming forums. Usually due the "Trolls" and the unconditional flaming of player to player that I've seen over the years in other games. I am placing this here to be a non bias opinion of the game and what it has or could offer. I am not making a petty argument thread to whine over the past, present, or future precedents, changes, and etc. of this game, the developers, staff, or even the players. If anything I hope to provide with constructive criticism/suggestions that could be used in the future. With that being said I will try to keep this neutral as possible and I apologize in advance if anything seems to be derogative or comes off as offensive. Class Progression/Story: While playing SWOTR since December of 2015 I've enjoyed playing all 8 Class Stories. I found them unique and a refreshing perspective of leveling a character through the first 3 Chapters of their journey. The conversation option points make it entertaining while reaching and completing set objectives for either flashpoint, operation, or even planet wide exploration. As you can see I only stated the first 3 Chapters. When you start on Hutt Cartel and the Revan series that unique separate Class orientated story telling comes to a close and is then bottle necked down to Knights of the Fallen Empire where the story is essentially the one and the same with very few variations with conversation option points from Class to Class w/ the exception of possible NPC/Companion recognition. And after playing the release of your newest expansion I feel as if the story in itself has one too many loose ends. Also the missing of 19+ Companions made the story unfulfilled on your conquest for the Eternal Throne. We, the players/fans, are told they will eventually come back one day but I thought it was odd when some of our personal favorites were not there for the falling of the final curtain of the Expansion's story nor do we see or hear any mention of them ever again in any of the Chapter series when starting KotFE. I really have no suggestions on this part just befuddlement from playing one extreme to the next. Grouping/Raiding: Since playing for a year now I've seen a 'bug' from selecting the Group Finder for Flashpoints where you may be in a group full of DPS w/o a Tank or a Healer. Yes I understand that most story content of Flashpoints can be done w/o a healer w/ the available kolto station nearby but it's rather annoying when trying for an increased difficulty setting of Veteran or higher(OPS/War Zones) w/o a Tank or a main person providing as a Healer. I believe this irritates a lot of players into simply not using the Group Finder making queues for others minutes to hours on end. The 9 Operations were a great introduction for Raiders to get together for progression learning, working as a team, defeating select Bosses on Hard Mode or even on Nightmare Mode. But I've been told that there has not been any new Operations for Raiders for quite some time even years. And after reading the 5.0 patch notes and seeing that Gear Tokens have been removed w/ the replacement of Crafting Schematics and increased drop rate for crafting items seems like a slap to the face to all the Raiders who play this game. Operations are currently obsolete with 0 incentive for your hard core Raiders. The Command Point System is not a suitable replacement specially when wanting high end tier gear to only find out you have to be a Command Rank 180 or higher for the RNG chance for a piece of desired 242 gear. Why use high end gear where there are no new Operations to use it on? Seems a bit pointless to use it on Uprisings in my opinion. Guilds: Conquest-I think there should be an overhaul on your Conquest Weekly System for Guilds. I'm saying this because there truly isn't an Imperial vs Republic competition. It's mainly Imperial vs Imperial and Republic vs Republic when it comes to Craft Week for Conquest. Not to mention that Conquest has become Large Guild incentive only. Meaning that if you are not in a highly populated Guild that is very regularly active you will not get accessed to Legacy locked Titles for conquering a planet compared to being in a Small Closed Guild. Small Guilds simply can not compete nor do many think of dissolving and simply joining a Larger Guild. Possibly making the Conquest Objectives randomized and harder to complete with set reward and or points based on Guild size. Example: A 10 person Guild has to compete and win as a group for 5 Warzone competitions or complete 10 Veteran Flashpoints. 25 person Guild will need to go to a random planet and compete 3-5 PvP objectives in an open world environment with bonus points awarded for competing against the opposing faction group if present in the same area. Or complete a new set of bonus objectives in an Operation, Uprising, or Flashpoint on Veteran or Nightmare with a PvE incentive on completion. Or a 100-200 person Guild have to Conquer and Defend a specialized outpost on a given planet for a certain amount of time. Rival opposing faction Guilds will earn points based on successful attempts on taking said outpost w/ specialized weaponry and defense protocols/items. Allow Guild leaders to set preferences for PvE or PvP only or Mix. And probably a dozen or so more that will actually make people work together more to earn a place on those Conquest Boards every week. Planets: Player vs Environment-Really enjoyed the open map sections for Balmora, Hoth, Voss to name a few. The open world feel allows players like me to look, explore and to enjoy the questing aspect of this game. However when introduce to some of the new planets it becomes more of a corridor feeling this also tends to limit player enthusiasm and interest of wanting to repeat in the 5.0 Chapter series. Will these new planets be expanded more in the future with more story incentives for players? Will some of the older visited planets be updated with new map sections when players hit their new level caps? No Omega-sized Rancor or Krayt Dragon World Bosses? I'm joking on that last one but would be interesting to see. Player vs Player vs Environment-I been seeing some map channels were there are PvP only maps. These maps are generally barren of players. Why not remove those maps and make PvP flag only option. Where players have to hit a bound key to flag for PvP. And Players can only attack other Players who are flagged for PvP. Set a timer of 5 minutes or more on a Player before they can flag down and turn off PvP. When these players enter a Flashpoint, Operation, or Uprising the timer picks up where it left off before that player could flag down. Events: The Weekly Events were fun the first time around but when it's generally the same 3: Rakghoul, BBA, or Gree it becomes tiresome. Sometimes even skip it or all together not participate in those events because they became boring to players months ago. I've noticed several other possible Events listed under Reputation via Legacy but have yet to try them out and enjoy them. Even I think several of them need to be re modified to where Reputation is not bought/gained from Cartel Packs. Companions: After completing the 5.0 Story Chapters I am certainly terrified that my Character's Companions may be living in a small universe with the like minded individual of George R. R. Martin. Where no NPC or Companion is safe! I really hope to hear or read some good news in 2017 of the return of the remaining Companions. Along with a possibility of new Romance quests or with a series of quests that we complete w/ said Romanced Companion on select planets. I know he's not a particular fan favorite for the Sith Warrior Storyline but I do miss Malavai Quinn's personality along with Jaesa being a Holy Terror. Also food for thought it would be nice to make all the Companions we collected in KofFE actually participate in either gathering items, credits, quest starting items, on a Galactic Command scale. Meaning just like you would send your Companions on Crew Skill Assignments why not send a few to help with bringing order and or to rule the Galaxy. Example: A special Kiosk where players go to either the Fleet or Odessan and look at available quests along with any specialized incentives if that Companion has ties to said planet. It would show a bonus under selected Companion or incentive for sending said Companion like more credits per reward or more CXP per reward or even shorter duration time of quest. Quests can take up to 6 hrs or even a week to complete. Rewards could include influence gain w/ sent Companion, a crate full of Companion Gifts, Credits, and etc. You are now the Commander of the Galactic Alliance should we not play the role of the boss for it?
