Typhaos Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 (edited) I can understand why people paying for the game are more wanted than those who don't pay. But I had subscription, it expired, I became preferred and suddenly I could not ask about anything or make any comment... That's not cool. It's not like I never gave you any money... Don't you want to know why I stopped paying? What to do to make me pay again? Well obviously after hesitation I payed again (of course not because of forum but for KOTET), so I can post this: kicking preferred out of the forums is stupid and not cool. Savej Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 If you don't filter by subscribers you can get the board swarmed by bots and trolls and much angrier people: it would be harder to manage.
DisIzMe Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 Its about keeping negativity to minimum. Also,Bioware does not care about opinions and reasons individuals give them,in Holy Metrics they trust.
cardmonkey Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 It's like those dating sites promises love and nsa but his cs bot and other people passing you by

We already have at least 1 bot here using, I'm assuming either stolen accounts or credit cards to create those accounts. We already have people who get ticked if you direct them to a thread containing their answer. We already have people who think they have a right to do whatever they want here and/or demand spoonfeeding. It wouldn't be harder. Just more of the same. Consider it an extra benefit of having a subscription. Non subscribers can email support and/or hang out on other sites like the subreddit. They're not completely out of options.

I never said this board as it is does not have trolls or bots or angry people - reread my one-sentence post. Managing this site for non-subs would require a lot more staff. Reddits get users to moderate them for free and there's tons of things they don't have to worry about that EA does here (this site/company is mostly PG, for example).

Some of my hosting clients are reddit editors. This forum is nothing. I could tell you stories. Edited December 3, 2016 by dr_mike
Neshira Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 It shouldn't be. There are many reasons that people are stating but the true fact is that Bioware doesn't care about the comments, opinions, or issues that involve non-subs. The forums should be for everyone. A sub only area would be fine but not letting the largest player base post at all is just cruel and stupid. It's measures like these that drive players away rather than entice them to subscribe. In-game limitations are all fine and dandy but even f2p players should be allowed to seek technical support, discuss the game, and submit bug reports. They are absolutely a part of the community and should be treated as such.
dr_mike Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 even f2p players should be allowed to seek technical support, discuss the game, and submit bug reports. Tech support here for everyone - http://answers.ea.com/t5/STAR-WARS-The-Old-Republic/bd-p/star-wars-the-old-republic-en All players can also send in tech and support questions to the support email address. And a reminder that this isn't the only website and/or forum for swtor on the net.
