DarthEnrique Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 (edited) You know why don't people who are complaining just say it: They want SWTOR to be over. It's got nothing to do with development issues, or all the ******** people keep complaining about. Just admit it that you are bored with the game and that it's been running for far too long (four years) and it's time to end it instead of just pussyfooting around it? How about that? Theik Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 This makes zero sense. People complain because they are passionate about something and want it to be changed. People who don't give a **** don't pay money for a game.
Drudenfusz Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 I think most people who complain are like me, they want that the game improves.
DarthDymond Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 When in doubt, ascribe insincere motives to those you disagree with. I love KotFE and the direction it is taking the game - I love the experiment they've started here in having an MMO use ongoing story, instead of repeatable group content, as the main incentive for people to subscribe. But I don't think that it is odd or disingenuous for others to not be on-board with that new direction. Or for others who find the problems with this games that I personally consider minor annoyances at most (bugs, balance issues, poor communication, etc.) to be a serious detriment to their enjoyment - enough so that, on balance, they find the bad is outweighing the good. Are their some posters who just come on to throw a tantrum and whine? Sure. But I think a whole lot of people are just giving honest feedback about what they do and do not enjoy about the game, and about the direction they would like to see it take in order to keep them subscribed or get them to resubscribe if they are leaving.

The people who are complaining are the ones who don't know how to play a MMO. They need to stick with single player games because they are clearly doing it wrong.
PulseRazor Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 People complain because its cool to hate. People complain because they have an inflated sense of entitlement People complain because they have unrealistic expectations. People complain because their definition of value is determined by egotism. People complain because they cant read, or don't want to read. People complain because it is easy.

It's some people who are complaining...about those complaining..I wonder if they know ..they are literally the same as complainers. I don't want SWTOR to be over. Far from it. I don't with the new movie it will be over for least a year or two. I want it to better. I want companion buffs back. I want to enjoy logging back in instead of sighing.

TUXs Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 I think most people who complain are like me, they want that the game improves. Absolutely! I want subscriber numbers to go UP! I comment on issues I feel are vital for that to happen...and an out of touch development team is clearly not conducive to that goal.

People often say "This is faceroll" after playing world of warcraft again just literally a day ago. Playing that is literally a face roll. It doesn't take any special person to figure out the DPS. I could randomly press buttons and still kill that mob. It's a slow burning grind that is slow and burning that's why it's not fun. You think its because I don't "effectively play my class" or I don't "sit on here all day so I have time to press 2 buttons for two hours" it's not fun and repeating "play your class better" doesn't make it any fun. You are missing the entire point on why its not fun. Hint: It has nothing to do with playing your class.

They probably wear all black to contrast with their pasty skin instead of ironic flannel and compensation beards and tats like you do though. After you grow up a bit you'll learn the spectrum of drivers is a lot broader, and the crowd includes a lot of reasonable types too. Edited December 2, 2015 by Joesixxpack

This... want the game to "FIX" itself, but BW seems to have some reality issues with setting expectations. HYPE train over the rewards rolled out yesterday are not EQUAL to what they should have been (For the Hype). Should have just been a "hey we are announcing a rollout of rewards program in progress"... they went way overboard like it was a new engine being added to the game (Complete re-write and all... LOL).

TheSeventhJedi Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 I admit it. SWTOR is the only place I can really get my Star Wars fix for now - but no mistake about it, I play it for the Star Wars and almost nothing else. (I do run ops with a cool group - but who knows if they'll be around till the next tier?) If SWTOR dies, there will be more Old Republic games - maybe they'll go back to single player so the story group can make them canon. If killing the game brings us closer to that, I'd personally drive down to Austin and pull the plug tonight.
ImmortalLowlife Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Absolutely! I want subscriber numbers to go UP! I comment on issues I feel are vital for that to happen...and an out of touch development team is clearly not conducive to that goal. Ya know Tux, I don't think the dev team is as out of touch as most think. You've been around as long as I have. Remember when the solo/story focused players were begging for "more personal story", "more companion stories", "companion customization kits" so WE could decide what role companions served, etc? And the "traditional" MMO players were responding with "it'll never happen", "this isn't a single player game" or "console games are over ---->". All the while BW was listening to that crowd and adding OP's, WZ's, QoL improvements, & content that couldn't be described as "Solo friendly". And in the end, endgamers STILL complained & *****ed about it. And now BW is once again listening....except instead of listening to the locusts, they're listening to players like ME. The solo players who've been asking for more story for years. And personally I'm LOVING about 98% of the recent changes. But I guess swtor is like politics....no matter what decision is made, there'll be loud voices raised in opposition to it.

How about that? Dude, I've been playing PvP almost exclusively for three of those years, don't even try to tell me about boredom. The game has become a buggy, unfocused piece of crap that doesn't want to be a multiplayer game anymore but still wants to eat the subscriber fee cake, that's all.
RogerApple Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 (edited) well you claimed to have difficulties with current companions in the second last boss fight in warrior story so i think it's absolutely a l2p situation in your case. hope you're not offended, about 90+% of sith warriors i see have no idea what they are doing. marauders worst of all. instead of asking for godmode companions, you should focus on your own ability and make it less of a grind that way. You are distorting what I said. I said during the fight before you faced Barras in the warrior storyline. Where you fought the cyborb half man half machine. Even as over powered my companion was. He was an elite and literally threw my companion around. That despite I was matching his level. Some reason they make some class missions unusually harder. For example making you face one or two different elites. It's amusing that you said you me literally a week ago. "I never taken a position in companions" here you throw around words like god mode so casually for someone that's never been Pro Nerf you certainty talk casually about it enough to fool me. More people had fun with companions in 4.0 then they did in any other part of the game. That's the honest truth, several people have echoed that. Edited December 2, 2015 by RogerApple
BigBreakfast Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 (edited) People complain because its cool to hate. People complain because they have an inflated sense of entitlement People complain because they have unrealistic expectations. People complain because their definition of value is determined by egotism. People complain because they cant read, or don't want to read. People complain because it is easy. People that play this game to pvp have been asking for new pvp stuff for.. I don't even know how long. And nothing. People that play this game for operations will have nothing to do until the devs release a new one, which might not be until August as some have predicted. They haven't said a word about it. What are these people supposed to do until something new arrives? They're not thinking, "Focus on me", but rather, "Don't forget about us". Also, when I read subscriber reward, I thought it was a reward for - being subscribed. I don't think many people expected it to be an incentive to subscribe. And before you say I feel entitled for a reward: - Did I ask for it? no. Would it affect me if they didn't have a reward at all? no. I don't CARE what the reward is or even that there is one. What the livestream did show me was that they spent time and resources making an EXTRA, additional chapter, available ONLY if you're subscribed until the end. So think about it: - Did anyone ask for an additional HK chapter? I don't remember that. - Some people don't even care to play as HK. - Again, what are pvp/ops people supposed to do until then? Story quests only last a few hours. Yes, we knew there were no new ops. But remember - this game has had ops all along. Now, they've stopped making them. With no word about new endgame content on the horizon, all the people who play for that reason are disappointed. And not for the first time. All I want is for them to continue to do what they've been doing all along. New story, new endgame content. Edited December 2, 2015 by BigBreakfast
