"Subscription rewards" = removing content and hiding it behind additional paywall

To me it looks like Bioware's done a very common practice nowadays, when developers cut the content from games and releaese it later as DLC. I can bet that HK 55 was much more than likely to return at a later stage as part of the story and that mission was also supposed to be part of KotFE.

They have probably noticed that people would plan on subscribing for one month to play a bunch of chapters alltogether rather than stay subscribed and pay a tenner to play a chapter every month. Oh wait, chapters won't happen every month. First one already got delayed.

So to keep those few subs left, during the stagnancy period, they decided to keep the opportunity of "reviving" one of the two fallen characters in KotFE. It will, most likely, be a repeated offer.

I get it that they want to keep subscribers but making story-related companions exclusive rewards is a bit low. Especially since we can't decide whether they die or not by our decisions. This way Bioware can simply kill any companion from KotFE and then bring them back to life through Subscriber Rewards.

Next Subscriber reward will be Darth Marr, who wants to bet?

Why not offer some really cool, non-reskin armor and mounts that won't be available through CM but exclusive and cool enough for someone to remain subbed? I'd totally subscribe if I was to receive a cross guard lightsaber or a set of traditional Jedi robes.

It will probably serve to drive away more people then it retains.

Honestly, the complete disconnect from what I was seeing on the live stream chat compared to what they were talking about...

Makes me think that there's a person or persons acting as filter to these "community" people. HK-55 was not even on my radar.

To develop and implement content around a brand new gimmick companion and pay no mind to bugs or ongoing requests...well its crap. I'll watch the "story" content for free on YouTube.

The focus on nickel and dime-ing everyone over making varied, engaging story content is driving me away. I will miss my Sith warrior, but this company is terrible. ;)

Solution: If you want to keep HK-55, don't bother completing the first few chapters.

You're subscribed now.

SWTOR: the only place where "traditional" means "from 1000s of years in the future."

So by your logic. Exclusive companion is bad as reward, but exclusive gear or mount is good as reward? I prefer it much more this way, already have so many gear i dont know which i should use on my characters ;)

My logic here is sound as it sounds like Bioware offers additional story content, which they do. Extra mission and and a backstory behind HK-55 getting fixed. Nico is extremely lackluster and it shouldn't hurt anyone not to have him - but HK does sound a bit different.

Do you remember datacubes? They apologized and acknowledged that it's not ok to put story content on cartel market.

People are upset that they are getting something they might not have got.......

People are upset that they killed off a beloved character, and then hid their return behind a subscription paywall because of the characters popularity. Big difference.

Boom. Thanks, that's what I mean. What stops them from doing the same with Darth Marr now?

I dont see how this is additional pay-wall. You dont have to pay MORE than usual to get him. This is sub game with optional F2P model. If you stay sub you get all, if you dont stay sub you dont get all. Simple as that.

I been a sub since before launch, and never stop my sub since day one.

The rewards to me are just a bonus, not really a big deal. I already have a sub so not doing anything extra and not paying anything extra for it as well, just my normal subscription that I have kept since day 1.

Still waiting on the romance companions who BETTER be Class Exclusive or I'm done.

Looking at the stream, I'd say you're done, then. (Kaliyo is a romance companion, or someone's been lying more than usual to my Ratta agent.)

I feel that I am entitled to enjoy a game I pay money for.

What planet are you from where this is wrong?

Ehm and what exactly makes you not enjoy the game with this new informations?

And not, you are not entitled to enjoin game you pay for, you are entitled to pick (and maybe pay for) game you will enjoy.

The sub rewards, meh, it's fine because I stopped caring a long time ago. Playing HK would not make the difference between me staying or going. When I decide I have had enough, I'll simply bail just like I did in WoW after 7.5 yrs.

The main thing that irritates me, is the month pushback for chapter 10. Does it surprise me? No, nothing this company does will ever do that.

No new flashpoint(s). No information on my class companions. No new story for months to come.

Since I accepted that HK-55 was gone, bringing him back from the "dead" and using that miricle to try to entice me to sit around mindlessly doing weekly heroics for the next half a year sounds pretty awful.

The community hates itself. The majority of players want nothing to do with each other. The game mechanics are broken and do NOT encourage group play even if friends or family wanted to play together.

Bioware sounds completely oblivious to any problems at all. Just...meh.

I'd stick around as freetoplay and continue to do random leveling of different classes for the 1-50 stories, and crafting, but the restrictions on that are bad enough that I'll just not play.

Maybe in 2017, if there is even a weeks worth of actual story content, I might sub again.

This is Bioware pleading for subs, and its not working on me.

I see. If you would say this was last straw, i would understand. But your previous post did not felt like it. And most of your reasons have not changed with this new informations.

Apparently the real world. You are entitled to enjoy what you pay for? You enjoy root canals, getting sick and seeing the doctor or paying taxes? Which planet are you from?

You may pay for the game but the developers don't have a personal responsibility to make sure you are satisfied so stop acting like a spoiled brat. If the majority don't like it, that's one thing. You don't like it, tough luck.

I don't like it too, neither to almost all of the people I spoke to just today. Don't act so f*cking arrogant.
