Amodin Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Fixing the game. I honestly would have been happier with fixing/adjusting/mending/healing such things as: - People literally stuck after Chapter 3 and 7 story-lines, allowing them to be able to continue on with the game. Smugglers are experiencing this horribly right now with Chapter 3. You literally cannot get past Chapter 3, even after killing Voidwolf. You don't get the achievement, nor the decor and the terminal to allow you access to continue on tells you to basically 'F' off, not allowing access to it. The chapter issue was a problem literally three years ago, dating back to posts I found about the same issues. CS was able to fix that - now they cannot and just tell you to submit bug reports. It's been months. No, years for this to be fixed. Months for my character to get fixed. I'm still stuck at 50 because I am literally cut off from being able to play it. - Optimizing the game engine. You are working off of such a hacked and slashed version of the discontinued engine, yet there are still issues that have been around since beta. Outfit designer just recently went bonkers. Item preview window won't let you get into a combat stance under certain (most) preview conditions. - Odessen - the delay in doing anything in game while on this planet and makes me want to get out of this place ASAFP. - CE/Pre-order for those that paid a lot of money for something that has been a BIG sore in the game related to the 'exclusive vendor items' that can be found pretty much everywhere else in game. - Buggy GTN. It's been messy for a long time. Please fix it. While you are at it, resolve the issues with decimal points - they aren't needed on the GTN. We don't deal in change. - Giving players the strongholds they actually ASKED for, not just what you decided to poop out. You guys even admitted to that when you introduced the Yavin SH. - COTFE: Companions of the Fallen Empire. I got nothing for this. I literally cannot think of any reason why we have access to so many companions, and are getting more. They are only unique in looks. Abilities are identical and have no uniqueness to them. I can see both sides to this argument, and frankly, I like having the option to pick and choose companions. It will become a cumbersome challenge, exactly for the same reasons you made changes to companions in the first place. - Guild window - For years now, I have had the displeasure of seeing offline characters show up, and I never have that option enabled. Other issues as well related to the same window when using the search features. I don't think you realize what "quality of life" improvements you can make to the game that would make your customer base a LOT happier with the game. Separately, these are small items. When all of them affect you, it turns into a BIG problem to do things with the game. You want to impress some people, focus on your quality of life of the game. Not everything has to have something added to it. Just fix what you have to make it a higher-quality game that more people can enjoy.
Kiesu Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 I was so sure the answer to this would have been... Kephess. color me disappointed.
TikkyLightmaker Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 (edited) No. The Big Announcement should have never been called "Big", ever. What was announced was fine, in and of itself. What was not fine is the hype they put in it. Now, having seen this bull shump from several other game companies in the past, i knew this was just a bunch of fog. But reading on how this is par for the course with BW, it's something that should have been expected from most of the player base. Now people can sit there, arms crossed and all upset, and say that BW has to change their ways.... and get disappointed (and upset) time and time again.... or they can just choose to learn from this, and set their expectations to something a bit more realistic. One, you cannot control, the other you can. But it's always easier to want the other person to change. The choice is ours to make. Is it sad that we should learn to lower our expectations to the point they're already met? Most definitely. But since that's the only thing we have any real control over... "Do what you can, with what you have, where you're at." It's the most realistic option. (Not to say those other things don't need doing, but the announcement could only be about what was immediately in the cards - those other things, unfortunately, don't seem to be there.) Kiesu Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 (edited) The "big reveal" was always on a same line with subscribers. If you were expecting them to fix the engine or bugs or any of this other stuff you listed, for SUBSCRIBERS ONLY that would have been utter hilarity. Edited December 2, 2015 by Kiesu
Technohic Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 That would be disappointing as a "BIG" announcement. All sounds like stuff that should just be expected.
Amodin Posted December 2, 2015 Author Posted December 2, 2015 The "big reveal" was always on a same line with subscribers. If you were expecting them to fix the engine or bugs or any of this other stuff you listed, for SUBSCRIBERS ONLY that would have been utter hilarity. Of course not, don't be silly. However, addressing issues instead of letting them linger (like they are known to do), could bring back players and/or keep existing more as subscribers, also bringing F2P potentially into subscriptions. You can find several posts about people leaving the game because of issues with the game itself, not the content. I just wanted a game that I can actually enjoy and do, such as my issue with my Smuggler that I literally cannot play because of game issues, not because I don't have something to do. I literally have Makeb, forward to go through, yet I can't because the game literally will not let me continue with any storyline. I'd call that a game breaker, yet it's been in game for years. People literally got fed up waiting, deleted and re-rolled their character to fix their problems like mine. I'm not so inclined to do so. I'd rather the company responsible for that take the appropriate action and "fix the glitch".
Amodin Posted December 2, 2015 Author Posted December 2, 2015 That would be disappointing as a "BIG" announcement. All sounds like stuff that should just be expected. You mean just like what they posted in the stream? Chapter X, more companions, changes to crafting? Yeah, "big" announcement indeed. I'm not going to even get into HK playable.
ZanyaCross Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 That would be disappointing as a "BIG" announcement. All sounds like stuff that should just be expected. Quoted for truth.
Amodin Posted December 2, 2015 Author Posted December 2, 2015 Quoted for truth. Yeah, so either way, there is utter disappointment. At least crap would be fixed.
Tyrloch Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 As I said in another thread, maybe they should go investigate what Vet rewards are from the now deceased City of Heroes game were. Much better concept of how to reward long time subscribers.
publicenemies Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 they should have upped the cartel coins that would have been something at least but getting another hk which is the same as all the other comps now screw that
JAOMSYH Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 I'd have thought it would have been something more. Hell as one person said in another post a pillow for us to bite on while we get scre.wed would be nice. Looks like again we are getting it rammed into us with no lube or the darn pillow. Come on bioware look us in the eyes at least once while you bone us.
branmakmuffin Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Gotta wonder why OP is even playing the game, let alone paying for it.
ScarletBlaze Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 The thing with the stream and the announcement it was announced it was for subs. Okay let's do this: (1) Raids- Those are not just for subs. Those are for anyone who does them, whether they are subs, F2P or preferred. so why would they announced a new operation or something like that in a stream that was advertised for subs. (2) PVP- Again not just for subs. Those are for the people that do them whether they are subs, F2P or preferred and again they would not announced new pvp in a stream that was advertised for subs. (3) Balance- See (1) and (2) (4) Bug fixes See (1) and (2) So that leaves? Rewards for people that sub. Now those would be only for subs and that is what was advertised and would fit in line with what was advertised. I am not saying raids, pvp, balance, etc is not needed but the advertisement specifically mentioned subs so it stands to reason it would be something that only applied to subs.
JessieLoverRxE Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 I need that bug fixed where my character keeps falling down during SF heroics! There are like 4 hooks you have to go trough, you have to get past the first 3 to get a new rotation where you just get directly on the 4th. I have more then a 50% chance of falling during each jump, and then I have to get back to the 'starting point', and do it all over again. I HAVE SPENT AT LEAST AN HOUR, TRYING TO GET ACROSS THE FIRST 3 HOOKS TO REACH MAIN BOSS! It was only after I felt like murdering someone irl, that I finally asked someone to come along and get past 3 of the hooks for me, so I can then just focus on the 4th...unbelievable. *deep breaths*
Amodin Posted December 2, 2015 Author Posted December 2, 2015 Gotta wonder why OP is even playing the game, let alone paying for it. This makes absolutely no sense. I posted my thoughts for the pure and simple fact that not everything has to be content. Focus on broken crap for once, instead of letting your subscribers bleed out. FIX IT. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sKFRSL4wpcY
JouerTue Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 should have been, hey: new strongholds, new warzones, new operations, new flashpoints on the way. screw single player empire/republic love.
