SpiritGod Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 I've been playing since vanilla and I can tell you that this game is all about force users now in PVP, Troopers have no "oh ****" button like everyone else with stealth, immune shields, or an absorb shield (one thats not laughable anyway). And the sad part is is that this class used to be awesome, but now we cant even do PVP anymore cause we always get focused every single game because people know this class sucks. Its gotten so bad that I've considered unsubscribing and just going back to WoW, Bioware needs to fix their balancing issues and if their not going to make troopers a class worthy to level then im done. omeru Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 They had their time. Yea they were OP 4 years ago so they need to be nerfed every patch, because it was the last time a swtor developer played pvp in this game so they still think mercs are OP we need to nerf them.

Lalainnia Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 gunnery/arsenal is the only spec doing well of the 3. Anything can do well in reg warzones tho certain specs literally just fall behind more so when teams have great ppl on both sides. Ranked mercs are just iffy in general

Ranked mercs are just iffy in general Yeah, I changed from dot spec to gunnery around 50ish on my commando, and been in 65s for a week now. It's really, really fun. I love this dps toon, my gunnery specced commando! Could it use some improvements to it's QOL? Yes. Noteworthy imo is for me To be productive in dps on gunnery, I have to take utilities that center around mobility in pvp. This makes it so I cannot choose defensive utilities and my survivability takes a huge drop-off. Another issue is, when I compare my offhealing to a sorc dps who offheals, there's a huge difference here too. The commando's heals are helpful to use between fights, but in no way can the heals keep someone up who is getting burst down, nor can the heals keep themselves up. I don't really mind this, but a dps sorc actually CAN keep people up with their heals and keep themselves up fairly well during fights if they try. This is more of an issue with sorc dps healing too well IMO though. Commando gunnery spec, the best spec for commandos IMO in PVP at this time even has some fairly glaring weaknesses, but no so much the spec isn't fun. As for healing commando? I already have created posts on top of posts regarding this spec, I enjoy the idea behind it, but the spec needs so much work. IO/AS commando? Too long of ramp up time for damage to take effect, no burst, and a clunky, awful dot-spreading mechanic that is barely better than lethalities notoriously terrible dot-spread mechanic. Oh, and the damage was nerfed according to the numbercrunchers regarding crit damage etc. basically the class was **** before 4.0, and now it's been further neutered into uselessness by a damage nerf. Not only is the damage system the IO/AS commando spec uses a mess, but this spec also has awful survivability. There's absolutely no reason to play this spec, not one. The entire build needs reworked. That being said, I am working on a IO commando right now and am 62 lvl... perhaps by the time I get to 65 BW will have improved it drastically. It definitely under-performs now though, so I can only imagine how awful it is in 65s. I have faith in this company so I fully expect this to be the case. This, and a nerf to sorc healing, and PT burst. It's gonna happen, you'll all see! (btw, <3 you BW!)

No different than 3.0 so the "now" in your subject line is about a year late Actually there is big difference compared to 3.0 in 3.0 you had 30 sec HO now 45 sec, you still have only 1 root breaker but all classes got 1 or 2 more root breakers and most of the classes got new damage reduction or speed boost abilities merc didnt got any so compared to 3.0 mercs are least changed class every other classes got some good and shiny additions and now juggs can ignore electronet with a tier 1 utility so RIP electronet, so there are some changes and as general it is bad for mercs. In team ranked they are good solo ranked most probably worst class. Edited November 30, 2015 by omeru
