Haidahl Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 I'm trying to set up some modifier key based keybinds but I'm having problems. I want to bind say shift+left click to cast shield. I go into the keybind interface and find the action bar spot I want to use. Then I click the bind button and the message pops up to press the key or combination I want to use. I press shift/left click and nothing happens, ever. I can map a single, stand alone, key and it works fine but use a modifier key and I get nothing, What am I doing wrong? Thanks
DocDAM Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 (edited) You can figure this one out by just playing around with the keys. Here's what I found: Certain keys aren't bindable. Some only work as modifiers with another key. L-click doesn't work at all for binding. Modifier keys (shift, control) only work in combo with non-modifier keys. Edited November 29, 2015 by DocDAM
JediQuaker Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 It seems that certain mouse functions are hard coded and can't be used for binds. If you have a mouse with extra buttons, though, you can do things like Ctrl-Mouse4. (Mouse 4 and mouse5 are the "thumb" buttons.)
Haidahl Posted November 30, 2015 Author Posted November 30, 2015 Got it. Thanks guys. Seems like pretty pizz poor game design you can't keybind a shift+click. Pathetic actually. Oh well adapt or quit, great choices.
JediQuaker Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 On the other hand, if you want the fastest attack response, you don't want the mouse click to have to wade through routines checking for modifiers.
