Loredalso Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 (edited) [name] the Heartless (from Hutta) [name], Imperial Scholar (from Korriban) [name] the Keeper of Truth (from Tython) [name] the Mantellian (from Ord Mantell) Is it currently possible to get any of these titles if you don't already have them? I tried to get Imperial Scholar recently on a character, but even though he did the right heroic quest twice, the title still isn't his. I suspect they broke these titles when they revamped heroic quests (specifically, I suspect that you don't get the titles because you never actually hand the quests in to anyone anymore, but that's just a guess), but I don't know if the titles are just bugged or intentionally retired, and I'm not sure if they received any sort of fix in recent patches. I hope these either have been fixed, or will be soon (or I'm just doing something wrong when I try to get them). I'm kinda a fan of that Imperial Scholar title, and the others aren't bad either. Muljo_Stpho Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 I don't know about the titles, but about the turn-ins... You have to wonder if they could have (and why they didn't) just make it change the heroic transport mission item for that heroic into a turn-in bypass mission item for that heroic. I mean, have it so that when the mission completion point is reached instead of just immediately and automatically jumping us to a reward window we could instead choose to either find the NPC for the normal turn-in or activate an item to bypass the turn-in. Instead of removing the NPCs to pick up a bunch of the heroics, keep the NPCs around and have them on the terminal as well and then just allow for those heroics to be picked up from either source. Both options provide the option to transport to the heroic and you'll get the option either way in how you want to turn in the mission afterwards. That's what they probably should have done.
Loredalso Posted November 29, 2015 Author Posted November 29, 2015 So I take it no one else has had a problem with this, then?
kamennebbie Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Got Heartless just fine on a fresh agent last week.
Makillda Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 (edited) So I take it no one else has had a problem with this, then? I was unable to get Imperial Scholar just now. This is a problem. It has to have something to do with no longer turning in the quest manually. It doesn't trigger the codex entry. This is a bug that should be fixed ASAP. Edited November 30, 2015 by Makillda
MoyaSP Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 cannot get imperial scholar so far, h ave done it several times on new chars and old, and nothing yet cause of the auto complete.. it's not the only quest there are issues with.. it should not be mandatory to turn in automatically... you lose out on a lot of story for some of them, like on Balmorra there is one where you do a whole conversation with wheezy pratface man
Muljo_Stpho Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 it should not be mandatory to turn in automatically... you lose out on a lot of story for some of them, like on Balmorra there is one where you do a whole conversation with wheezy pratface man How about the heroic on Ord Mantell which has only a light side option from the droid that you have to talk to on the island but if you took the neutral option there before 4.0 you could go to the NPC in Oradam (who isn't even there any more after 4.0) to get both a light and dark option (with that second light option being worth some affection with both Corso and Aric)? Now it's just cut off after the droid regardless of which option you took. There's no follow-up and no acknowledgment of the lost conversation options.
Vyerix Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 (edited) nvm, misread the issue. Edited November 30, 2015 by Vyerix
Haruen Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 I got Heartless just about two or three weeks ago. You need to make a Dark side choice in one of the Heroics, depriving the locals of a ship or some such. I was spacebarring through it. =/ Wasn't aware of Imperial Scholar, I'll need to see if I have it already.

This would allow people who just want to power through them quickly to get the boxes a way to do that, and it would allow people who actually want to go through all of the steps, particularly to enjoy the story, the option to do that as well.
Psychopyro Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 I was unable to get Imperial Scholar just now. This is a problem. Loredalso Posted November 30, 2015 Author Posted November 30, 2015 Oh, good...so it's not just me then. I guess I'll go post something in the bug report section, then.
Txornisx Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Can't get the Tythonian Keeper of Truth title as well. That makes me really sad, kinda needed this title for one particular character. As far as I know the Zabrak codex entry associated with the same heroic is unobtainable as well.
Kryptonomic Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 I can say for certain that I was able to get "The Keeper of Truth" from Tython and "The Heartless" from Hutta. I can only speak to the Imperial Scholar one anecdotally beyond saying that I'm not able to get it nor have I ever been able to get it. If you check out comments from back in 2011 on the Codex Entries at Swtor-Spy (http://www.swtor-spy.com/codex/imperial-scholar/1410/), apparently there were problems with Imperial Scholar even back then. This thread (http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?t=42599) seems to indicate that some people were able to get it dependent upon server. However, the 2.4.2 Patch Notes do say: The Hate Machine: Completing this mission now grants the "Imperial Scholar" Title and the appropriate Codex entry. That patch was back in 2013 or so. What this amounts to (at least for this particular title): who knows. It's been bugged a long time. It seems to have worked for some people at some times. (Which sounds like many of the bugs and fixes for this game, unfortunately.)
Muljo_Stpho Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 I think the best fix for the automatic turn in would be to implement a system where if you pick up the heroic using the terminal on fleet, odesson, or wherever, then it auto completes, but if you pick up the quest from the normal quest giver, you still have to turn it in normally. This would allow people who just want to power through them quickly to get the boxes a way to do that, and it would allow people who actually want to go through all of the steps, particularly to enjoy the story, the option to do that as well. You're suggesting two entirely different copies of every heroic mission where this would be relevant. We'd have things like "[streamlined Heroic] Hate Machine" and "[story Heroic] Hate Machine". That's clunky. My idea allows it to be done within the same version of the mission. Just grant a mission item that bypasses the manual turn-in. Those who want to turn a mission in the normal way can ignore the bypass item and return to the NPC for it, and those who want to get it off their list quickly can just use the bypass item to trigger their mission reward instantly. Picking up the mission from the NPC and bypassing the opening conversation by picking it up from a terminal would grant the same version of the mission, which you would run and then decide whether you want to turn it in instantly or with a final conversation.
Txornisx Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 I can say for certain that I was able to get "The Keeper of Truth" from Tython and "The Heartless" from Hutta. Was it after 4.0? :-/
