I always see Hypercrates and Supercrates on sale on the GTN for millions of credits. I read a post where someone said that it's a good idea to buy them and sell them for higher. Is that a good idea? Do they sell well on the GTN? I'm on The Shadowlands server. I just want to know if that's a good way to make money, assuming that you have the credits to spend in the first place.

What they are probably referring to is buying on the CM for CC and then selling for credits.

Ok but that doesn't really answer my question. Do things like hypercrates, supercrates, and crates tend to sell well on the GTN?

Crates sell between 200 and 500k depending on what's in them, supercrsates and hyper crates will basically sell at multiples of that according to how many packs are in them. Older packs though sell for significantly more if you have them, but that's the general amount. It's up to you if you think that that is "worth it" for spending cartel coins.

There are two things involving the GTN and crates that can be done. Buy on Cartel Market, Sell on GTN, and just play the GTn - i.e. buy a hypercrate for 4mil, open it, and sell all the packs for 500k each.

Any high-cost items take a while to sell. Some people are hesitant to sspend big money, others are waiting for the price to come down. While profitable, everything on the GTN is a game of patience.

Don't do it to make money, making money is very easy at endgame and you won't need much before that.

But if you want a certain item from a cartel pack and would be willing to buy a hypercrate just to get it. It's better to sell the hypercrate (or perhaps the individual packs) and use your profits to buy the item you desire from the GTN.

Yes, they sell.

Will they sell for what you want to make? Well, you should be able to see the numbers as there will be some on the GTN.

For a quick credit you can buy a supercrate or hypercrate, open them up, and then re-list the individual packs once the timer expires.

If the hypercrate is selling for 6 million and the packs are selling for 250K, then that is a million and a half profit before the GTN commision.

You can also buy the packs from the cartel market and then sell them directly when the timer expires. Basically converting cartel coins into credits.

Just look at the GTN, see what the packs/crates are going for and decide if you like that exchange rate.

Once upon a time holding packs until they were removed from the market was a good way to see more return from them, but with the smaller packs and the availability of the packs offering the older items, I doubt that the newer packs will hold value like the older packs did.
