So... the thing about the Alliance is that it's supposed to be a mix of Imperial and Republic forces and heroes coming together under one banner to fight the Eternal Empire. Right? Right.

This would suggest to me that the section heads should be more or less balanced. The flavour of the Commander's Council should be more or less... balanced. But it isn't.

Hylo Visz is a Republic Hero. She might not be part of the establishment, but at her heart of hearts, she's Republic.

Ilip Jugurub may be a Hutt, and Hutts may be Neutral... but this character is from Makeb, and he threw his lot in with the Republic when the Empire was busy seizing all the Isotope 5. If I recall correctly, the Imperial Makeb quests don't even introduce the player to this Hutt.

Benwan Aygo... Republic Admiral. Nuff Said. Although, if you play GSF Pub Side, you're used to following his directions against Imperial wings.

The Voss, Sana-Rae is the only one I'd describe as actually Neutral. Good pick going to Voss to pick a leader for the Force Enclave.

My suggestion would be to swap out Aygo and replace him with Moff Phenir. Phenir is Imperial to the core, but I'm sure even pub-side characters will find him mild mannered and pleasant to work with.

When you think about it, which faction is more likely to throw in with the opposing faction against a common foe, Republic or Imperial? Hell, the damn Sith can't even get along with each other most of the time, and they've always been on the same side.

Frankly, it makes total sense to me that your alliance is 75% former Republic aligned.

well..... the moment you a get an imperial in charge, there is going to be someone in the shadows waiting to kill him and take his position. thats how it works for the imperials. right? :D

so the alliance chose republic members for those positions, because stability. :p

*disclaimer added here since I dont actually think these thoughts* *they just happened*

I disagree. The timeline video made it seem to me that she was more into breaking the Mandalorian blockade for the money, not for allegiance to the Republic. And it's clear that she didn't want to be a hero, since she didn't attend the medal ceremony.

Who is suppose to be the Imperial Specialist then?

Lana, the person in charge of everything before you show up and who basically makes you the leader of the alliance.

To the OP... The "bias" actually makes sense though. The Sith Empire is not an Empire based on politics and economics as we know it. With the exception of Darth Marr the Dark council consists of people who got their jobs by wacking and betraying others. They do not hold their positions nor does the government persist due to even mutual self interest. The balance is achieved by their opposition to each other. They are essentially polarized magnets pushing against each other in a hollow ring, neither being able to overcome each other and so stasis is maintained. If they were not in that hollow ring forged by the Emperor and then maintained by Marr, they would have likely lown off in different directions forming their own fiefdoms. If you look at the history f the Sith you actually see this happen time and time again. Right now the Empire is held together by a Puppet who ascended to the council, the Eternal fleet randomly showing up in shipping lanes and Star Fortresses hovering over planets.

Darth Marr was the one person, and we see this specifically stated at the beginning of the Story, who could have perhaps beat the Dark Council into line for an Alliance due to a combination of personal power and gruding respect. When he died, at least for now, Full on Sith involvement is near impossible. I can certainly see some Sith Lord or Darth lending assistance at some point of the story BUT when they do it will almost certainly be more to further their personal agenda in the "Game of Thrones" that is the heart of Imperial politics.

Eventually we might even have Sith or Moffs becoming 2nd in commands of each Alliance AS they see proof that their personal agendas are better served by the Alliance and not the Eternal Empire. Right now the success of any Rebellion against the Eternal Empire is seen as all but impossible by the Galaxy at large so personal self interest would dictate catering to the EE, not trying to fight them.

tl;dr This is the problem. What many people find cool about playing Sith side, the back stabbing and intrigue that makes the Empire what it is, is precisely what makes the most influential in the Empire unsuited to being a formal part of the alliance.

Though Ogoruub did work with the republic, he is nuetral. If the empire had found him or talked to him, he probably would have helped them save the planet too.

though I was disappointed to see so few imperials and imperial characters in the alliance. Im hoping as the story goes on we will see/recruit more to each division. For example, inviting one of the moffs or the grandmoff to work in the military division as 2nd in command. Or inviting mandalore to the smugglers lair. Or even a jedi master and sith lord who argue all the time to the force enclave.

We will see as the xpac goes on.
