isaqueMar Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 So i'm thinking about how levelling with pvp is, i'm a pvper myself, not a good one tho , and it came to my mind that the only way to improve myself in pvp is, of course, doing warzones whenever I can and learning how to play my class, right? But the only thing that i'm curious is if levelling up a char from 10-65 only doing warzones is a viable way of levelling, because if a guy like me that only do pvp during end game level up with quests, flashpoints and those things, I fear that I will not have the ''experience'' and commendations that I need to match up with experienced players during level 65, and I will end up becoming a free kill whenever I join a warzone . So my question is what you guys think about levelling with warzones only? Is it viable?
Kaytrine Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 (edited) It is viable, but it will take some time. I did this with my PT. I never played a single quest on this character, and pvp'ed her way up to 50 (when this was level cap). Took about 3 weeks of pure PVP everyday (20+ games a day). Edited November 25, 2015 by Kaytrine
csant Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 It will take a long time to reach level cap. Right now I am playing a sniper lv44 and I haven't quested since my low 20's. I am going to do nothing but pvp on that toon. =)
NikSunrider Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Base WZ XP has increased recently, and while that is viable in itself (on par with story questing), you can also get +55% (30 from legacy, and 25% from consumable boost) makes things ridiculously better. And you will also end p with enoug hcomms to minmax two ranked sets.
BaineOs Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 It's quicker than before 4.0 that's for certain made the mistake of doing the daily mission and skipped lvl 19 entirely . Plus the initial introduction to warzone mission will likely get you to lvl 14 after one match so the initial 10 levels and so are really quick. Only gone to lvl 21 on one of my low level toons so far but.....definitely quicker than pre 4.0

Really? wow.....only created the toon a week or so back I've been afraid to take any of the dailies due to skipping a level I don't want to (odd I know but just go with it.... )
Icykill_ Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 I'm up to 23 toons, Ive done all the class stories, so I only lvl in PVP now... It's totally viable and will actually make you a better over all pvper... Of course the new PVP Lowbie bracket of 10-40 is challenging pre 25, the old brackets were much better for the lowbie bracket... If you find it too frustrating pre 20-25, just use some XP boosts and speed through the PVE story till you get to 25, then you should be good to go in PVP
DomiSotto Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 I find that doing just the story quests while having the queue button always on is an optimal way. Otherwise, waiting on the pop is too boring. If the pop is fast, you get a PvP-only experience. If the pop is slow, well you gain the levels. And it slows down considerably after you hit the 40ies, so you get to play a lot of zones on a character that resembles your end-game one.
Lhancelot Posted November 28, 2015 Posted November 28, 2015 Honestly I disagree with the people who say it takes a long time... They increased the XP you gain through pvp, and you also get more comms now too. You will fly through lowbies (10-40) via pvp. Mids, it slows down once you get to the 40s. I usually open up the legacy bonus XP for pvp also though, and always have XP pots to burn. So for me, leveling via pvp is not that slow. I like doing it, because I get my abilities mastered better as I get them and use them versus leveling so fast I have 2-5 new abilities and have to learn to use them on the fly in pvp. I am slow like that. 8) Another good thing is after you get to 50-55 lvl or so, you will have 20-25k comms, you will have so many comms by the time you are cap you won't know what to do with them all.
