Who else agrees? The voss as a playable race would be awesome, make them be able to be either republic or empire! But instead of having them start like every other race have them start out on a special part of Voss for levels 1-10, then at the end of those quests choose republic or empire then join the regular missions for that level so for example a Sith Inquisitor Voss would go to dromund kass to meet their new master Lord Zash. It would be so awesome!!!

Dont feel like typing it all out but here:

 

Ok, had to do the class quests on Voss so stopped in the shrine of healing to take some screenshots.

 

This is my BT 2 character standing next to a female voss. As you can see, the top of her head only comes up to a female voss shoulders.

This is my BT 2 standing next to a male voss. As with the female, again the top of her head comes up to his shoulder, her shoulders are even with his elbows...

 

Voss are really, tall, cut scenes in game are at a fixed camera height, would you enjoy cut scenes with the top of your head missing?

 

And as always, when voss and other tall races like wookiees are requested, if you honestly believe they would go in and redo every single cut scene in the game for this, that must be some -real- good stuff your smoking ^_^

and then hit level 45 and immediately get the quest to go to VOSS and have pretty much the entire dialogue of the entire planet make no sense...no thanks.

 

Its one thing to have a single instance (chiss asking what a chiss is on HOTH) but to have an entire planet not make any sense is horrible idea.

Actually I think a Voss playable race is potentially an easy solve; they're humanoid in all respects so all armour would fit as well as weapons, and as for why they are off planet it is a very easy plot fix with even just a simple line of dialogue early on.

 

"Why are you here?"

 

"I was told by a mystic that I was to leave. I can't remember anything else as my time on Voss was cleared from my mind."

 

I realise it's a bit of a cop-out way of doing it, but it's a potential. As for size, in theory you just scale down a little; not all Voss are giants if I recall, some of them are the same sort of size as a player character. As for their presence on Voss you could always add in a racial dialogue in the same way that there are species dialogue in other missions such as the Imperial Agent when they talk about aliens and you happen to be one.

 

I would actually very much support the character option of playing a Voss; they're a good looking race with an interesting back-story. It's not for everyone but those people that would enjoy it would be very grateful. But again, these are just my thoughts on the matter ^_^

What's the name of that chestplate again? I keep forgetting it everytime.

At least this necro isn't too big.

 

At first Voss were supposed to be playable and consist of a class that would be on both factions, but BW eventually scrubbed the idea due to it feeling inconsistent to have them playable well before the player even gets to Voss.
