StreetPunk Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Hello. So, there's 2 teams: players who like and who dislike nerf. Obviously there's bigger amount of players on 2-nd side. 2-nd side is casual players. U said: no more NiM opses in future. Why ? Because there's less than 5% of players completed them. Why to work for 5% and not for 95% ? Right. What am I suggest ? The only disbalance that OP companion could provide is open world PVP and conquest. Make a TOKEN which will enable OP mod for casuals but will disable possibility to PVP flag and to gain conquest points. I know idea is very harsh but maybe some1 could make smarter reviosion based on this toughts. OR just rebalance companions to please casuals
lozteddy Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 A good suggestion as long as it doesn't affect players from the group that don't want nerfed companions from doing pvp in the warzones
TekkamanSaber Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 (edited) Good idea op though i don't think having the ability turn off conquest points is very fair. (especially for dailies, crafting or single player pve stuff) though obviously companions cannot be used in ops groups, i feel they should still be used in singple player flashpoint modes, heroic 2's but perhaps they should not get a bonus if summoned in a hard mode flashpoint. though a possible revision is this, have the legacy unlock give the player an ability that when used gives the player an additional presence boost. This boost gives the players companion and only their companion a boost to its stats or heal/damage/tanking output to potentially make a influence 50 companion on par with a player wearing the current highest tier of gear (no augs) with a -20% penalty applied. An additional constraint of the ability is that these bonuses only take affect when the companion is targeting a npc opponent, if the companion is targeting a player for pvp then any damage or heals that are dealt are cast as if the buff is not applied. Siefer Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 The on / off switch is a very good idea! It has been floated in some other threads as well. My suggestion for the on / off would be based on the initial 4.0 power level and the pre-4.0 power level of companions. When the switch is 'on', companion power levels would be at the levels we saw at 4.0's release. Short version - really high. However, while this mode is on, they cannot flag or be flagged for pvp (so they can't attack flagged players) and certain achievements that were meant to be challenges cannot be obtained. An example would be soloing the Exarch in a Star Fortress. However, not ALL ACHIEVEMENTS will be turned off - that may be going too far. Perhaps, killing an Exarch with the fire from the windows is still obtainable even with the button switched on. While the switch is set to 'off' - the original pre-4.0 system comes into play (to a degree). We have to gear out the companions for them to work. It's not that influence level and presence have to have zero effect - just back to their original scaling rather than the current scaling. While in this mode, all achievements are obtainable and pvp will work as normal.
