KarallEsuritio Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 (edited) Hello everyone! First off, I'd like to introduce who I am, because I am hoping to have a long discussion, get to know you guys that will hopefully respond, meet some other raiders and hopefully see some Developer Responses! I normally go by Anasara/Nyr'ii in game, I'm a member of the only raid team in the guild <Rash> on the Red Eclipse. My roles vary depending on what we do, but I have cleared all content successfully as all 3 roles and different classes and I normally main DPS! (Stop me pls, numberfarming too stronk!) I enjoy raiding in swtor. Some of my best MMO achievements and memories come from this game. I enjoy all of the content from the first to the last. My guild cleared all of the rescaled NiM in a matter of a week or so since 4.0 early access, to see the challenge, what it's like, is it worth doing more than once, etc! We enjoyed going through all of that old content and we did meet some challenges along the way, but we did feel that some of it was easy. But we can't peg that down to poor scaling, because our classes have developed from what they used to be back at level 50-55. While I understand it takes time, math and testing to develop 2 whole new operations to keep the PvE community happy and while I respect the reason why you scaled the content while you tune your focus on delivering a true BioWare story (Good job, by the way guys, I'm enthralled by the work you've done for KotFE), the PvE community is starting to get a little dry. A lot of people, including people in my guild especially, really enjoy the PvE aspect of the game. Logging on, crafting your consumables, getting ready for 8PM to hit so we can go raid! But we are seeing a decline in that. Pugs on The Red Eclipse are sometimes less than fruitful and with the priority ops, you've giving people who would never otherwise be able to obtain 'NiM' level gear, the chance to and it's becoming a nuisance due to all of the 'ninja looting' we're seeing/experiencing when entering a Pick-up group! Now that's just Imperial Side of course, Rep Side is kinda really dead for decent PvE. So, now that I've babbled on a bit about that, I'd like to pose a suggestion! Suggestion! The Return of Nightmare Power I saw several guilds, including my friends guild go at Nightmare Power Dread OPS. They cleared the hardest content in the game at the relevant time, got their titles and they were well earned. I am not suggesting Nightmare Power be re-applied to the Oricon OPS. That would be an insult to those who already earned the titles: "Conqueror of the Dread Fortress" and "Deposer of the Dread Masters". So perhaps work on applying Nightmare Power to other ops! I'd really love to see Scum and Villainy and Terror From Beyond buffed! It'd be fun to work through and earn a title for clearing buffed, at-level content other than the timed run title! It'd start an interesting thing, perhaps give some PvE guilds a reason to get together, start regular raiding again to down something that'd be there for a limited time only and earn a title! We miss the Progression races guilds used to have. There's nothing to race for or progress now, so it leaves us bored! That said, I'm not the only guy who lurks on the forums who's in a PvE guild. So, I'd really love to see what other suggestions people have, what they think of mine, and maybe we could work something out to give us ol' disgruntled PvE players a little extra to do until you give us a new set of Operations to demolish. Thanks for reading, if you did! o/ Edited November 19, 2015 by KarallEsuritio
KarallEsuritio Posted November 19, 2015 Author Posted November 19, 2015 P.S. That Crystal of Nightmare Fury is becoming really controversial and it's a silly idea. Please, delete it from existence. No real raider needs one!
KarallEsuritio Posted November 19, 2015 Author Posted November 19, 2015 shamelessly bumping because I'd like to see this happen. ._.
FerkWork Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 This would be a good idea. Also should apply to HM Rav and ToS as well (make Revan as hard as post buff pre nerf or even harder ) While the title for Oricon should remain exclusive to the original NiM Power clearers, it would be cool just to see NiM power itself return to those Ops. Could Reward a mount instead of a new title for that one.
KarallEsuritio Posted November 24, 2015 Author Posted November 24, 2015 I'd really like to see this happen, not get swept under the carpet as a nonsensical suggestion.
LudhaninRolgge Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 I've only tested 3 different HM ops and can't compare them to their former form, but from what I saw, EV and KP are far too easy. It felt like 3.0 SM and I got bored really quickly. Hopefully we just cleared it once each and we moved one. My raid group started SnV yesterday after we cleared KP HM so we didn't have a lot of try, but still. Exept 2 veterans, most of my group was new to this op, at least in HM. The first 2 pulls on Dash'Roode were a bit tough, mainly because we needed to learn the mechanics, but after that it went better. We did 6 pulls and nearly downed it on the last one. We called it a day because it was getting late and (apparently) some weird things happened (I've been told that you should not be teleported more than once and that healer should be teleported as well even though ours didn't and some of our dps were teleported 2 or 3 times). Anyway, my point is that the difficulty seems right, the feeling I had when wiping on HM Ravagers and ToS is back. I'm eager to try again and to discover the rest of those ops.
Jerba Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 (edited) I saw your YouTube videos and while I do admire progression-oriented players, I don't think we are in a position to demand anything. It has become clear that BioWare is not interested in group player content at the moment so I don't expect things to change. We only did HM so far because NiM loot is bugged and we rather use the time to farm 224 gear, and we haven't yet had a boss that gave us a lot of difficulty. Having killed the bosses when they first came out, we just know every little detail of the fight. The tanks know when they should swap before the huge hit comes. The DPS already know where to position themselves and don't need to practice the dances. The healers have healed this before and just need to adjust to putting in more effort than during farm. But still, I wouldn't call the HM content too easy. Other guilds who never saw those bosses before and just start doing them do find them a challenge because they have to learn the fights. I talked with a group who wiped on Zorn & Toth the whole raid night, while we killed them on the second try. So the content is certainly challenging if you don't know it. It is sad that the devs do not think that the bugged nightmare loot should be prioritized. By the time the loot is fixed, every raid guild will already have 224 gear. I'm secretly hoping that they'll introduce a new tier when nightmare loot gets fixed, like 228 so there's a motivation to run nightmare mode then. The Nightmare Power you suggest is an interesting idea but I fear the progression community is so small now that even a single title won't be worth the Return on Investment. And if they just add a +10% damage increase to the bosses, they won't draw back the raiders who quit, those players would want additional mechanics or better tuning to be interested in the bosses again. I agree that the Crystal of Nightmare Fury is controversial but I do not want them to change it. Unlike most groups who will just complain about it, my group has already adapted to it and spent 40+ million credits to farm the materials required to craft a few dozen of them. If BioWare now goes ahead and removes the crystal, I'd be very angry and at the very least demand to get my 50 Gray Helix Components back. They had enough time to think about this so there's no excuse why they'd want to remove it. By the way, WoW will do something similar in Legion where one player can craft a damage buff for the raid group for certain bosses (Vantus Rune), so this crystal cannot be that silly of an idea. I do feel your boredom; we've gone down to one raiding day to push back the burnout as far as possible but we are already half 220/half 224. If we don't get something new to do early next year then the gear farming is over. I'm hoping to keep my group motivated beyond that by farming alt gear and decorations but the motivation to raid will eventually quiet down. Getting a new operation or at least nightmare mode for Rav/ToS would be the best solution but I understand that we won't get it until at least Summer 2016. I do find Conquest and the Priority Targets a very interesting system, maybe they can expand on that. Like introducing a new decoration to the highlighted operation or something to encourage players to continue doing it when they are full 224. I don't think Nightmare Power would be a good solution because there's no point to do a progression race but it would at least be a viable alternative for us. Edited November 24, 2015 by Jerba
Jerba Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 (edited) I've been told that you should not be teleported more than once and that healer should be teleported as well even though ours didn't and some of our dps were teleported 2 or 3 times When you are ported out, the game flags this player and won't pick him the next time players are ported. However, stealthing out will remove that flag so if you have Shadows or Scoundrels, make sure they don't stealth out during the fight. Also, healers not getting ported is a new bug/mechanic added with 4.0. It will only pick DPS players now, not sure if this is intended or not. This also means that if you lack DPS and don't kill him on the third position but need a third movement phase to the final position, DPS players can be teleported twice. I just realized that maybe healers don't get teleported anymore, so that's why the dps got teleported more than 1 time. Edited November 24, 2015 by AshlaBoga

I was told exactly the same thing by a member of my groups that downed it back in the days on his shadow. As it was my 1st time in HM, I didn't know. But I was the only stealther and even if my 3 teleports are only because of me, something should be done. Either correct that bug if it's one or decrease the CD of the shield. I'm fine being teleported as long as I still can use the shield.
OneHit Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Since the "devs" think the overwhelming response to what's needed in this game is more story content and not OPS and PvP I took the time to message Eric Musco this message. As like you I too expect zero honest answers and results due to the letter I sent him. But I encourage the rest of you who are as frustrated as I to also Message him yourself. And Maybe if he gets enough personal messages he will not ignore the actual overwhelming answer to what this game needs more of. Which is more MMO content and PvP Eric, Once again the members of the SWTOR community and I are greatly disappointed in todays announcement on DEC. 1st. At no point did you acknowledge the MMO aspect of this game. Instead you chose to focus solely on story driven content. I for one do not believe your statement that the overwhelming response to what subscribers want is more story content. I think its shameful of you and the "team" to continue to take subscribers monies and ignore are constant requests for new operations and PvP. Let me quickly break down for you the time and money I have invested in this game. I purchased the collectors edition of this game pre launch. Investing roughly $120-$140. Honestly I cant remember the exact cost since it was 4 long years ago. I have remained a subscriber since then paying $15 a month. To a grand total of $840 in subscription fees. Add in the cost of the CE I pre ordered plus some miscellaneous $10 - $20 for various expansions like rise of the Hutt cartel and shadow of revan. I have spent nearly if not over $1000 dollars on this game. The last operations released were in Dec of 2014. Since then I have paid $180 in sub fees for two operations and one stand alone boss I am very bored of. Before that was the Dread fortress release in October of 2013. Since then I have paid $390 for a total of 4.1 operations I am very tired of. I couldn't tell you the last time you released a new PvP. was it the new Huttball? That surely must be at least 2-3 years old by now. Let me tell you what I am not looking forward to, New companions. I currently have 20. 20 companions. That's great we are getting HK-55. Do we need him. NO. If I understand correctly if we remain subbed till august we will receive a bonus chapter where we can play Hk-55. That's cool I guess. Is it $135 cool. Not at all. For $135 I would like a minimum of 5 new OPS and 2 new PvP battle grounds. What are my expectations? for the $135 I expect more twitch feeds where you and the rest of the "team" smile to our faces and expect us to believe that the overwhelming request is story and not once touch base on the fact that there is no new MMO content. If I cross my fingers, wish upon a star, and throw pennies into a fountain I may be blessed enough to receive 2 new OPS, a stand alone boss, and zero new PvP battlegrounds. This game reminds me of a used car I own. Sure I could go out and buy a new one. But sadly in the past few years I replaced the brakes, the exhaust, a cracked windshield. An she will run real smooth if only for a NEW ENGINE. But lets not get me started down that road. Sincerely, One of your many jaded and neglected customers

Jokora Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Honestly i don't understand how they can't just make a toc from wow style raid. u have one or two rooms. make it like an arena there are a ton of them in star wars lore and have bosses come to the group that way u don't have to make these huge raids and work on design and looks it's just the boss and the group. seems like an easy fix to me they just don't want to do anymore ops second they could also add more single boss instances like TC again a easy fix to at least show the public that they are working on something cause atm what we have as a player base is just nothing really nothing take my 120 $ sub for the next few months and what i get is hk-55 and an hour of story content they are lucky really lucky that this is a star wars game and the new film is coming out and i love haning with my guild or else i would really not spend a dime for the lack of effort they are calling a game

I don't care how hard you make Nim but there was a reason so few guilds cleared that fight pre 3.2 and why they had to nerf it.
MuskyBoy Posted December 27, 2015 Posted December 27, 2015 (edited) Also forgot to mention that I believe the best way to get BW's attention is to vote with your wallet. I have 3 days left on my sub and they aren't seeing another cent out of me til a new op is released. Just make sure you inform them as to why you are un-subbing in order to show them through their precious metrics that not everyone has a raging hard-on for their rubbish story only content.
